On your weld machine you put it in "uphill mode" what does that actually do? How does it help going up hill? I just have a plug in the wall AC/DC welder so it doesn't have that. My 7018 welds are way better now that I used your tips. Still have not tried vertical up yet. I enjoy your videos and even though I have to weld sitting down (old guy). I have a desire to try to increase my skills once again. I love your passion for welding, I think it rubs off. Last, nice to see you are a Christian man, so am I. May God bless you and keep you safe.

Stupid question im in school starting to work more pipe when your running 7018 on like a 3/8 wall would you weave or try to run stringers iv heard a lot of companies want you to run stringers but i can never get it it fill enough and it looks god awful

You dont get your helper to chip the start for you interesting. Have you tried having him knock the start off so you can cap without stopping. All the welders I have helped have had me do that for em. Takes a bit of practice to not bash too hard but once you get the hang of it they dont even notice when you chip the start while they burn rod. Cheers great vid as always.

I've known some cocky welders in my time but if you find yourself carving steel knuckles into your work man....what can I say....everyone meets the dude that smashes their ego one day. Also on the bead with a roll out wheel if your getting to big of hole or to hot you can roll the pipe down to side and the key hole will will follow you better on the sides in my experience

how do you see what you're grinding with the hood on? when I grind looking trough the lens, the sparks always cause it to go dark.

Awe nothing but love. Dewalt make them. They started making them for the brushless grinders but the guard fits on them smaller body ones. I highly suggest the 7" brushless dewalt grinders it will be my next investment

How come all you guys with roll out wheels always work with short little pieces all the time and mini levels instead of tacking on long pieces and then making your cuts and transferring to the wheel? I find it so much easier to tack to long pieces for leveling and squaring, then transfer to wheel or vice etc.
