For many years the walking route between Wellingborough and Rushden has not been adequate for many of us, especially wheelchair users. As it stands the Nene Way is the main route which is really just a trodden track, no more than 18incs wide and not as direct as one would hope for. Well I am very glad to tell you all that a new plan has been divided to continue on the Thrapston to Rushden Greenway. The Wellingborough to Rushden Greenway extension will see our disused railway lines turned into official public footpaths with new bridges and wheelchair friendly pathways across our beloved floodplains. Making it easy for many of us to travel town to town without use of a motor vehicle. The fact of Wellingborough falling in suit with many other disused railways turned footpaths around the country excites me enough. In this video I explain to the best of my knowledge using the plans that have been sent to me by one our legendary viewers. Should you like to view the plans then this link below can help (page 526)
