New shoes might help honestly. I wear Bont''s, they're shaped like feet so they dont have a huge pointy toe. I went up to 28c tires on my road bike which caused a tiny bit of toe overlap and they solved it. Plus theyre insanely comfortable. Check out their Riot+ mtb

If you want to go the ghetto way on the BB, you can use the Sram rhs bb cup with the shimano cranks. Then knock out the 24mm id bearing from a used RHS cup and insert it into the LHS Sram cup (after having knocked out the LHS 22mm id bearing). Yuu'll probably have to use a spacer/shim on either side to get things perfect. Yes, this will work if you have old BBs lying around.

If you ran 700x23c, this wouldn't be an issue. Or just slide your cleats all the way forward. You could just raise your saddle so it forces your toes to be pointing down. All great options that won't affect your speed and comfort. 🙃

700x23c - ass pain when riding the gravel roads this bike was built for Saddle height being raised - pelvic and most likely knee pain Moving the cleats forward - ankle and further knee pain Yea sure doesn't change anything in comfort.

With 7.5mm shorter cranks, the seat will need to be approximately 5mm higher and somewhat further rearward to replicate the original position. That will affect the relationship to the bars. Hope you didn’t cut that steerer too soon.

The Shimano Dura-Ace bottom bracket would not have been my choice. I think Shimano could have offered a much better BB ( Dura-Ace level) with less drag, at least that is the experience I had with the one I bought for my new bike build. After I installed it I immediately went online and bought a Chris King bottom bracket. I know I could have chosen a BBInfinite or something, those are good too, but Chris King replaces the bearings for life or as long as you own it for free. I just wanted to say that I was disappointed with Shimano on the BB but it may not matter to you.

Flats suck. Except for all mountain, I'm too much a pussy to ride clipless for trail rides especially with a lot of roots that can eat your tires and throw you over the bars lol. But my opinion is more on the safety thing, I don't really wanna slip off my pedals and clipless is the best way to ensure that my feet are safe, and clipping out isn't too different from flats for me so yea it I don't really have cons for clips.
