Among the different local sizings, the body of influence (BOI) and the face of influence (FOI) give you a lot of flexibility in defining regions for mesh refinement. These two types of local sizings can be added to existing models without having to decompose the geometry. In this lesson we will explore what BOI and FOI are and how they are used. Also, we will learn how to handle a model with BOIs and FOIs in Ansys Discovery for a successful mesh creation in Ansys Fluent Meshing, using an example.
