It was awful back then, as the white fighters, would call the black fighters yellow, when it was us whites, that didn't want to fight the black man, mainly out of fear of being beaten. Jack Dempsey ducked the great Harry Wills, as he knew he'd be beaten & my guy George Dixon had to come to England, to be the first black world champion & what he had to endure, was horrendous. That's for another time. Great video. Bless up bro

Very interesting stuff. This is such an eye opener showing events that occurred only a short time ago. It's amazing how skewed the information was during those times to suit the backwards agenda of these people. I'm in agreement with what you have to say here because your points are well presented and worthy of note and discussion.

This is true. Joe Louis became the necessary gateway for black fighters to able to be re-integrated into the sport.

Joe louis was a shy man anyway he wouldn't celebrate even if they told him too. Not many boxers celebrated in those days anyway.

A lot of the nonsense they wrote about black fighters in those days was completely contradictory. So, they called them "yellow" but then they drew a colour line to avoid fighting them or to deny them title shots (leaving black heavyweights to fight each other over and over again). Similarly, they claimed that black fighters "had no confidence" or called them "Uncle Tom's" if they behaved in an ingratiating way around white people (to get fights or just to survive) but then when they did display confidence (like Jack Johnson), they were called "flash".

Black fighters were not yellow they had no rear in a boxing ring there real fight was outside the ring boxing was a walk in the park.
