Jay Zenitram I was on my way to work, stopped by my local 7/11 to grab breakfast. As I'm walking towards the door, a man scurrys ahead of me, opens the door and offers me in 1st. He kept insisting that I go in 1st, even after I said "no it's ok" Call me a skeptic, but it felt odd. He eventually got fed up and went in 1st, I slowly followed. The moment, I repeat the MOMENT I stepped in, I saw a black looking thing ever so slightly sticking out of his jacket pocket. My 1st thought is gun, but I was skeptical because no one else seem to notice (6ppl in the store). But I just couldn't handle wondering, said I left my keys in the car, and walked out. 1minute up the street, he runs passed me, barring a gun. This was at 5am.

Cyba IT it depends on the perp. Some are resource predators, others (I forget the label) are primal predators... resource guys just want your stuff. The others enjoy inflicting pain and suffering on others. They’re literally monsters. I think the latter are much more rare, but “always surrender” promotes a false sense of security. Get into the wrong situation and you’ll be tied up and forced to drink draino, like the robbery hostages in my home state. If you happen to comply, stay fully alert. If things seem odd (hey, they’re not just taking my stuff) you still need to be aware of that “must act now” switch and fully commit 100% at that point. The alternative is your death and dead loved ones. Never, ever let them take you off-site. Never. I’m not an attorney, so this is a mental exercise. Police generally suggest compliance because they don’t want to be held liable. Keep that in mind.

Nosxman true sir. If you do gun training the right way you have more weapons than any bad guy. Say they have a gun but you do too. You also have other "weapons" most of the bad guys won't.. Awareness, training with your weapon, and attitude. Attitude...you have to be ready to go all in and give these lower then dirt "people" everything you've got! My good friend and mentor who was also an officer"retired" had only one shooting he was actively involved in. He pulled a young guy who was a marine who had just gotten home from Iraq in 04 over for speeding. My mentor didn't know though the guy had just killed his brother and his wife(the marines) for cheating . while walking up to the car the guy jumps out pulls a gun so does (Officer Matt Dillon). The guy shoots Officer Matt in his a arm/sholder but he sill managed to shoot the bad guy 3 times in the mid torso area and those shots killed him. If he would have gave up after being shot in his firing arm imma say he'd probably wouldn't have made it. Gotta have that not gonna go out today attitude.

But look at everyone he affected. Parents lost a daughter. Bad guys parents lost two sons. And countless others lost 3 family members and friends. To go along with that he took away a mans career that he loved. He was in his 50's and still worked as a street cop because that was his passion. So its really hard to forgive people like that or sympathize for them.

I read a lot of comments about whether to comply or fight back, and I would like to share my thought on this issue. The best first reaction is always a compliance, showing my full compliance, hands up, some verbal reassurance to the bad guys that I completely cooperate with them or at best saying nothing at all just yes yes yes, some guys get irritated if people talk. I would keep my eyes low to their body level especially their hands, avoid looking at their faces or their eyes as it's usually confrontational, if they're about do something to me I can see it in their body's movement not their eyes or faces. I always try to keep distant from them, try my best to move far away from them, so when I have the chance then just run the hell out of the danger zone. I'm always looking for opportunity to fight back IF I have ASP. One thing that I learn from this this videos is that I can't never be sure that I'm fully aware of ALL the threats, there could be a third guy who comes out of nowhere and surprises me with deadly force. When my family members are around, compliance could be the best as fighting back may not danger my life but it may hurt my loved ones. Most bad guys just want my stuffs and get away as quick as possible, they don't want my life don't give them the reason. So to comply or to fight back depends on whether you have the opportunity and most importantly ASP (Attitude, Skills, Plan). All this credited to John, thank you. I also want to emphasize on one more thing that is also important is trusting your guts, If you have a feeling that this may be going bad for you, then you will have the attitude to fight back, but remember it's your gut feeling not your anger or ego :)

In 1988 I was jumped by 3 thugs as I walked back to the military base where I was stationed. It went down kind of like 3:25, and a third coming quickly from behind me after the other two were on me. It was a pivotal experience, not just SA wise but leading me to work on deveoping eyes facing all directions, constantly surveying what and who is within range, in every direction. Over time, development of a keen skill in predicting what might take place/ be done/ happen in a given situation -- able to make forecasts; a set of thinking skills including process-based thinking -- and, based on what my radar of SA is telling me, preparedness not just in firearms defense but more importantly, me personally, mentally and physically, and then taking action based on those forecasts. Some say I am too guarded and at times paranoid. But I see it differently. I'm not ever an easy victim. Today I will be showing this 3:25 section to my wife, asking her what she would do; would she have noticed or paid acute attention to the body language of either or both of these men; would she have held concern for her safety; if she were in a situation like this, would she forecast the potential risk, and if so what would her sequence of actions be; or what would she do differently. I have extremely high SA and an ability to see threats and potential threats better than most and is one reason why risk/ safety/ security management is my field. I see videos such as this as excellent tools for instruction of others who are not as programmed as we are (those of us who are in security protection mode 24-7). I am constantly reminding my wife to be attentive and alert at all times, for example. Yet have seen her -- and many women as well as men, and especially young adults and teens -- fixated on a cell phone, looking down, zero SA, instead 100% clueless what is going on around oneself, 100% trusting that nothing bad can happen, 100% trusting all others who may be near. When walking in a parking lot or in any setting. These videos offer excellent training, demonstrating the critical importance of not just acute SA but the skill in making forecasts as regards what MIGHT happen, and how important it is to take all protective actions available based on what one predicts MIGHT happen rather than on SA alone. Worse, blindly trusting others in the area are honorable, high integrity, responsible, respectful and trustworthy. After all, one can have exceptional SA but if they can't interpret what is being observed, thus can't make predictive judgments to forecast what might happen, effective actions of a preventive nature are impossible. It is very frustrating constantly having to have these talks with significant others ... our own safety fairly easy for us to protect, but not at all easy to protect the safety of others whom we care for.

My best guess is that these groups are what you would call organized crime, the suspects know what they want and most likely already have experience in doing similar crime. On this channel you can see many videos where there is just one suspect and most of the time, the crime seems very spontaneous without a clear strategy/goal.

Notice how the camera angle in the store protects the perpetrator. The cameras are pointed at an angle where the robbers can not be clearly seen. Also, that pole actually gives the robber added protection. That pole can or would block a counter ambush.

in the 3rd clip, i can't say for sure that there were any pre-attack indicators (in hindsight yes but not during). Sure the 2nd guy looks at that lady, but what guy doesn't look at women when they get out of a car or walk by (besides a gay guy, even then he might look to see what's shes wearing etc..). Again, if she were paranoid or had been receiving threats, then maybe she would have picked up on the guys but other than that this was a fairly quick and almost "pro" robbery.

Most guys dont look at girls, dumb statment, but youre right, there was no alert that these guys were bad. I gotta sag I understand where this channel comes from, but it would be pretty aweful if every girl stayed away from ever guy on the street, if every guy looked ay everyone as a possible threat, it would be aweful of everyone was so paranoid that they dont trust ANYONE EVER
@DapimpBDSD

AnonGaming you're right, it was kind of a dumb statement, the point I was trying to make was that there really was no pre-attack indicator (a guy looking a woman isn't uncommon), unless you just walk around assuming that everyone's out to get you, which is a strange way of living life.. P.S most guys do look at girls, whether they "check them out" or not is a different story.

Papi Maximus ill agree that the "something in my shoe/sock" would have caught my attention but it wouldn't send any red flags in my mind. Now the 2 guys wearing the same shirt would be a red flag in my mind. I was only trying to point out that just because someone looks at you getting out of a car (which is what the host,I forgot his name, said was a pre-attack indicator) doesn't mean they are a threat. In Hindsight, we can say that it was an indicator but at the moment it happened, you wouldn't be able to, unless you're paranoid.
