I've just started taking creatine. I'm 52 and post menopausal and workout 5 to 6 times a week. Largely strength training to maintain my muscle mass. I'm excited to see how this affects me. I feel as though I'm coming out of the worst of the menopausal brain fog but really happy to read so many accounts of this helping maintain mental clarity. I have ok muscles, but with them atrophying as I get older, I'm all for helping maintain the muscle mass. Does it help with bone strength too? Your products are excellent value and I love the helpful channel with bags of helpful, quick to the point info! Will look forward to reporting back in a few months. Popeye, watch out!
@helojoeywala6622

creatine doesn't help with bone strength but working out does help with bone strength. Eat foods that support bone health. Get enough calcium, vitamin D, and protein each day. Low-fat dairy; leafy green vegetables; fish; and fortified juices, milk, and grains are good sources of calcium. If your vitamin D level is low, talk with your doctor about taking a supplement. Get active. Choose weight-bearing exercise, such as strength training, walking, hiking, jogging, climbing stairs, tennis, and dancing. This type of physical activity can help build and strengthen your bones. Don’t smoke. Smoking increases your risk of weakened bones. Limit alcohol consumption. Too much alcohol can harm your bones. Drink in moderation or not at all.

I was in high school, working on my max bench pretty regularly, then eventually hit a plateau my junior year. I heard about creatine, bought a tub of some stuff called no-xplode and incorporated it into my bench workouts. Just before i finished that tub, i tested my max AGAIN one random day,....and i hit my next max goal that i had been stuck on for so long! I hadnt changed anything about my workouts, just added the creatine for about a month, kept working out. I was surrounded by my high school buddies that day in the gym, and the football coach. man, i was so pumped! I will always remember it. That day, i would have told you creatine is magic. 😆 Then i grew up and realized there is a LOT of factors and creatine isnt magic(though it does help) 😅

I am a 24 year old woman who weighs 120 lbs. Ive been working out for years now and have recently added a protien powder to my routine. Hopefully, explaining this to my paranoid dad will help him feel more comfortable about leaving me alone when I take another scoop of my whey protien powder. He tried comparing the story of how my 40 year old uncle used to take some kind of pill to build muscle when he was in high school without working out making him 300lbs to me taking 1 scoop of protien powder a day or every other day. There is alot that is also linked to his obesity and my dad doesn't seem to understand that I have already done the research. Plus, my protein powder is the cheapest stuff out there from the brand elevation sold in Aldi. There isn't much in there to begin with and I am okay with that because I dont need much. I also love working out. I don't want to ever stop exercising. I am not in any sort of sports, so working out is a hobby of mine that I intend to keep up with. Thanks again for the great vid.

Creatine is metabolized in the body and ultimately broken down into a waste product called creatinine, which is filtered out of the blood by the kidneys and excreted in urine. When high doses of creatine are consumed, the kidneys may have to work harder to filter out the excess creatinine, which can potentially cause damage to the kidneys over time.

If creatine is a energy providing supplement then why is it recommended to be taken post-workout? It would be more effective to take the energy creatine provides prior to the workout, or ….?!
@THEBACKROOMSEXPLORER7

it adds to your body's overall capacity to produce more energy all the time, whenever you lift, it's not like a boost like caffeine that lasts only a certain amount of time, you see?

Is it okay to mix creatine powder with my whey protein shake or would you recommend just taking creatine on its own? Is there much point taking whey when on creatine? :)

Yes. You can basically take creatine whenever. Typically I take it with my pre-workout about 30mins before my workout. Then Whey immediately afterwards

yes it’s even better to do it with that. creatine works better when taken with protein and carbs so add some carbs into ur shake

Is it recommended to still taking it while working out at home? Given the lockdown now? I’m talking about 5-6 days a week training including full body body weight, HIIT, isolated strength split between days and some running. But, not sports or heavy gym lifting! The video really helpful by the way! As a woman I’ve always had this major fear about taking creatine 💪🏼😊👊🏼

So glad you enjoyed the video. You can still take creatine while working out at home as it can still improve performance and help you do a little more volume (which some will find they have trouble with doing home workouts).

@@earlcoles5215 I'm afraid I have no idea at the moment. Like you said, it's a cheap supplement and if the company is reputable, I'm happy to get it if it's cheap (compared to other brands)... I don't really put a fixed figure on it.
