This is why i think muay thai practitioners are so dominant in combat sports, muay thai is soo effective not because it is so complex but because of how easy it is to learn and understand.

for me its to master the basics, drilling a lot the basics til they come second nature to you, then you can start adding basic combos and drill a lot, then you can start adding sparring, and yeah like you said train lots the defense, because when you master the fundamentals and defense when you spar you will fight very very good.

This definitely goes back to one of your videos drilling the fundamentals into your head and building it from there should be the core of anything. definitely learning a lot from your videos and definitely helping me reflect upon my journey. thank you

I forgot who said this but they said "Practise 1 move 1000 times rather than 1000 moves once."

Bruce Lee said something similar about fearing a man who practices 1 kick 10,000 times as opposed to a man who practices 10,000 kicks once.

its up to you, muay thai has unparalleled clinch work and as you said- head punches, but kyokushin practitioners have some of the best body conditioning and close-range head kicks in the world. It’s up to you, everything has its pro’s and con’s.

It’s best to go with whichever you think you’ll try harder at, also some Kyokushin places do allow face punches with head gear, it just depends on the coach and of course what level you’re at

I'm 23 years old, how far do you think I can get into mma? I'm aiming for bellator, I have maybe 6 montha of bjj and I do strenght training and punching bag, running and jump ropes at home
@Ethan-nc1hf

So only bjj, good for ground game, but you definitely need to develop your striking game. You said you do bag work, try to focus a lot on striking since you nearly have 6 months of bjj experience. You definitely need both striking and grappling. Maybe try to learn more about Muay Thai or kick boxing. If you can , try to do sparring, since it can point out your flaws and mistakes.

definitely take up kickboxing or muay thai because throwing punches on a bag will not take u far if you are not getting in real work in a striking gym
@Ethan-nc1hf

@@jg1289 yeah. Tbh Muay Thai is better since it has knees, elbows, punches and kicks and some grappling. But kickboxing has more variety in kicks and punches.
