I didn’t realize how bad off my gut was until I went keto. The bread/sugar/carbs or whatever you want to call it was killing me slowly. I feel so much better mentally & physically. Dropped 50lbs and still going. I am terrified to ever eat that ish again.

I cut out gluten and my stomach issues were solved. I wasn't expecting to see that my psoriasis that I had on my knuckles also would disappear. Then I realised that the diffuse pain I had in the legs when I got out of bed in the morning also faded away. I actually didn't notice the thing with the legs until I started to eat bread again for a while and the pain was coming back, when I skipped the bread it went away once more.

Hey Aurora! I've recently cured my diarrhea and IBS. I was eating 3 meals a day, and pretty much all consisting of fast food. I cut it back to fast food once a day, fruits and nuts for lunch, and for dinner I strictly have a vegetarian dish with maybe some rice or something, but no meat. So, I'm still working on my diet, but at least I cured the IBS and diarrhea. I'm considering cutting out bread to a large degree as well. I think my problem with IBS and diarrhea was due to too much fast food mainly, but also I'm getting more fiber from vegetables. I hope you can conquer it. And by the way, my symptoms pretty much cleared up in the course of a couple of days, and it's even getting better.

Two questions: Q1: Who was Sydney? I may have missed the intro but I have no clue who she was and what her qualification is. She was not very knowledgable About nutrition or the human body but I did not find her as annoying as the other comments had stated. Q2: In the newsletter it was mentioned that the video would tell us the best time of the day would be to consume bread. I listened to the whole podcast for that piece of information and I did not hear it. Also as an aside, I was surprised that you didn’t mention anything about the genetic modification and the use of pesticides in the grain plant itself and how that may be impacting our absorption of the grains and potentially being a contributing factor to modern day illnesses.

Just cutting way way back on sweets is extremely difficult in and of itself. I tried it for 30 days and lost 6 pounds with no exercise. I had no sweets of any kind and drank only water as my drink at each meal. Yes that was probably water weight but considering I was drinking lots of water during this time could negate that water loss. So I guess I actually did lose 6 pounds of real weight.

At 31.35 you say bread is essentially empty calories - no! - if that were the case then most of the population could eat it FOR the calories and be okay - you just spent the previous 10 mins telling us that commercial bread is DANGEROUS for our health - and THAT is the correct conclusion, not 'just empty calories'. White rice is empty calories, eaten FOR the calories - commercial bread is 'just' dangerous.

Bread isn't the problem. It's how flour is bleached and overprocessed. If bread was bad, then the 2 biggest consumers of bread: Germany and Chile, would have a higher prevalence and a direct linkage between bread consumption and the chronic diseases mentioned in this podcast. So, let's clarify that first prior to misleading the audience and generalizing that bread is bad. When organic unbleached flour is used, then there is hardly any problem unless the person's gut is overly sensitive due to other pre-existing issues, such as an already developed gluten intolerance, cealiac disease, leaky guy, inflammatory bowel disease, IBS, Sibo and Sifo.

The issue is not bread itself. It’s the lack of fresh bread in countries like the US. Otherwise, bread made up of whole wheat flour, water, yeast and a little salt has been the food of people for a long time. Why in the US, there’s no bakery to bake fresh bread?
@realimagevanity2289

I totally disagree. Almost all grains are not natural human’s proper food. I agree grains played a monumental role in human civilization and historically help fed multitudes of people. However people who historically feeds on grains were mostly lives in a semi-starvation diet and plus the same population are way more physically active than your modern population. Not to mention almost all cultures have ways of making grains more tolerable for human consumption, like long time fermentation, etc.
@blueberry4082
2 жыл бұрын
@@realimagevanity2289There are still countries where people eat a lot of bread and are not living in a "semi-starvation diet". Their bread doesn't contain a lot of gmo vegetable oils, preservatives, and sugar. there are not 20 ingredients in their bread. they don't know even what gluten is, let alone to feel sensitive to it. In the US, even we find organic bread, it's so processed that is not considered healthy. I know in Europe, and West Asia, they eat a lot of bread and they are not less healthy or more obese than Americans.
@realimagevanity2289
2 жыл бұрын
@@blueberry4082 I see your point but what I’m trying to say is bread aka grain never meant to be natural human food, if not for the advent of farming. Again, grains played a great role in transitioning humans from agrarian to industrial based society and I feel bread should had stop being humans food then. Especially in todays Information age where you can access food in a seconds 24/7, we need to go back to real human - species appropriate foods.
