If you're out walking or hiking, don't touch giant hogweed - as all parts of it are toxic!
Giant hogweed produces a toxic liquid sap that reacts with sunlight on your skin to cause painful blisters and burns that take a long time to heal.
If you touch giant hogweed, cover your skin straight away, then wash the area with cold water and soap.
Keep your skin covered and away from sunlight for 48 hours.
If you get toxic sap in your eyes, or you start to see blisters on your skin, see a healthcare professional as soon as possible!
