Nearly 70 years old, I'm not sure if I can make rigorous hiking any more so I really appreciate your taking me along as you explore La Palma. I've seen a bit of the world but regrettably never considered places like La Palma. Looking forward to visiting more interesting sites virtually.

So nice to the sky is blue somewhere! Many years ago I read how Guanche people were surprised to see the first Europeans visit their islands. They thought they were the only people left after a major catastrophe that killed everyone else. 😻🐻😻

I found a flat stone that has some carvings on it. I have no idea if it is real or not. It was here when we bought our place. They must have lived in those caves. Very interesting! Water will usually expose the rock in the mountain. We have a river near us that dries up in the summer and the bottom of the river is pure rock, in the monsoon season it has water in the river. When it is not monsoon season it is totally a dry river bottom.

I am so amazed at the lava rock walls all over the place, even on what seem to be remote walking trails. Such a creative use of abundant natural materials. Makes one feel they have discovered an ancient lost civilization. I wonder what the rocks inside that cave were? Some of them seemed to flouress when the flashlight hit them.

One big tunnel for such a small water pipe..... Many years ago, was there a larger amount of water flowing down hill, I wonder? Must be a natural spring above? What if the spiral carvings are related to water 💦, like water going down a plug hole?
