Excellent presentation. Well explained. Many times we have observed during drydockin that steel bar weled to restrict the rudder jumping is missing. Now CE have to calculate the thickness of the bar to be welded. Jumping of the rudder also will damage the top cover by moving wanes.

@rmetcvideos
3 жыл бұрын
I think it is in the comments section of video. I remember stating that it was apprx 25 mm total.That is 13 mm for Rudder Drop and 13 mm for Jumping clearance basis my observation from one ships manual. I guess it can vary from ship top ship as well.

I dont recollect of any special tool ( if you have tools like poker gauge in mind).Becaus the clearance is in the range of Cms( though small) , plates and feeler gauges with vernier would do.Thats the way I remember in drydock.

@rmetcvideos

I thought it is mentioned in the video.No big deal..I have seen .In the yard they measure with conventional means like Steel bar with some feeler gauges. There may be more methods also.It is not as sensitive as a Rudder drop
