Sir its not cross product... In cross product the two quantities that are multiplied both should be vectors... If one is vector and the other is scalar then its simple multiplication..

If a formula race car starts it's race on a circular track and ends it within 3min. The finish and start line are same. The mass of the car is 3quintals. So can we say that it's momentum is zero because velocity is zero since starting and ending points are same. So displacement is zero and time is 3min. (v=displacement/time) Velocity=0*180=0m/s, hence (p=mv) Momentum=300*0=0Kgm/s.

“The origin of creating momentum lies in the application of energy. Momentum serves as the initial cause of pushing and pulling. For example, when energy is applied, it generates the necessary momentum for pushing and pulling to occur. Without the application of energy, momentum cannot be created, and consequently, force cannot be exerted to push and pull since it lacks a physical existence.” ~Guadalupe Guerra

I have a question, Is there a limit where momentum is more like for example First case: bus with 1000 kg and 60m/s hits a guy Second case: truck with 1500 kg and 60m/s hits a guy. Now is it always the smaller product with less momentum that doesn’t injure the person? I hope think u understood this doubt 😌 Anyway stay safe. 💫
@limeffsss
3 жыл бұрын
Yes, momentum is not only dependent on velocity. It does gives us an idea that the body is moving or at rest, but it also depends on the mass of the body which is producing momentum. In the case of the example 1, the mass of washing machine was DEFINITELY more (50kg) as compared to the 5kg object. Momentum of 50kg object is *more* as compared to a 5kg object. Remember- If mass is more, momentum is more, same in the case when less.(values will be different in the product P=m×v) I hope this was helpful 😊
