Just ordered one. Exactly the solution I was after. Thx for the video.

Any chance you could open up the unit so we can see the inside of it?

So you still have the 30/50 or 40/60 pressure switch for your pressure tank, right.

Always install a 3 wire pump so that you don’t need to pull the pump because of the Capacitor failing down in the motor. 90% of the time, it is a control box issue

Have you had the pumptec show no lights?

I've installed a Pumptec, and similar to you I had a preexisting pressure switch with low pressure cut off. My goal with the pumptec was to avoid having to run to the crawlspace where the pressure switch and tank reside in order to reset, since the pumptec would automatically reset after 30 min. The problem is the pressure switch generally will do low pressue cutoff before the Pumptec is activated, thus rendering it useless. Similar to you I installed it on the line side of the pressure switch, rather than between pressure switch and pump. At this point I am looking to replacing the pressure switch with a standard one that does not have low pressure cutoff. I would prefer to have both levels of protection and not have to replace the pressure switch. Just wondering if you had similar experience.

So far I have yet to have either trigger. I had water pumped into my well which usually opens it up for a 2 years. You can adjust the sensitivity of the pumptec.

I have the voltage light that will stay red, then we’ll the pump gets on…it’s goes to flashing green? Any idea why? I have the manual and same as the other commenter…option is to call power company, Could it be that my pump is located quite a distance from my house and there the power has to travel quite a distance? Any thoughts?

Oh, so low pressure might be causing my pump switch to trip?

This question is for all who have a conventional pump system with pressure tank. Do you guys notice the pressure fluctuations between the settings before the pump turns back on to bring the pressure back up, like from 30 to 50 or 40 to 60psi.

Yes you have the drop the air pressure in you bladder tank by about 4 psi

Thanks for this video. I have a question hopefully someone can answer. Will this device shut the pump off if my well runs a little low and my pressure doesn't drop below 40 psi. But there not enough water to reach 60psi the cutoff point so the pump just runs a long time keeping the pressure between 40 and 50 ? Hope this makes since I have already burnt one pump up and had to replace it for this reason I assume

That shouldn't happen, most pumps have a shut off if they run out of water, but if yours doesn't the pumptec will sense a low load and shut off. For you I suggest you replace your pressure switch with a 20-40psi version. Also get one that if the pressure drops 10 psi below your lower pressure if cuts off and requires a manual reset.

What brand pressure switch cut off do you have? I'm thinking of adding a pumptrcec to my well but have a filter system that I need to shut down if it lacks were (bleach system that will continue to dump bleach into the mix).

pumptec model 5800020116 relay box keeps tripping. It's not the breaker. It started once in a while now its doing it all the time. I am no well guy. And, the previous owner buried the pump and wellhead under cement!

I have the same setup. I hooked it up but now my pressure switch doesn't shut off automatically. Can you show me a picture of your wiring inside the pump saver?

The Pumptec shouldn't make your pressure switch stay on, either the switch is broken or you wired it wrong. I can't share a photo on KZitem, I would suggest you have a licensed electrician come and make sure it is connected correctly.

Where does the wire from the switch box goes? Looking at your connections, I see the wire first coming from the power to Pumptecm then from pumptec to the switch then where does it go?

I just moved into a home that has this pumptec system. Throughout the day at times, the voltage light will flash, meaning obvious over voltage. I am wondering what the first step is as far as trouble shooting. My water pressure is fine. I have no circuit breaker tripping as well. Any idea what this could be?
@tigheklory

Ok I checked if the voltage light is flashing a over voltage condition exists. It should turn off the pump when this happens. Are you sure it's not the power light that's flashing? That's supposed to flash when the pump is running. Here's a link to the manual www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=franklinwater.com/media/167299/225468103_pumptec_manual-final-062916.pdf&ved=2ahUKEwj7jLD1qqHsAhXnRt8KHRbgBH8QFjAAegQIDRAC&usg=AOvVaw121xnT2YnsuZdDM3e50NdL

Mine is doing the exact same thing.. and I have NO CLUE what to do. The manual says to call the power company... Hmm. Solid or Flashing Voltage Light The line voltage is too high or too low. A. An unloaded generator can cause a high line condition. B. Low line conditions can be caused by loose connections. C. Report persistent high or low line voltages to the power company.
