Humble or be humbled! My son is a Pastor and was brought to be humbled. He needs to give confession to another pastor. It was revealed to me that you are that pastor. You both have something that each of you needs. Strongly it was revealed to me.

I appreciate Pastor Allen so much. I struggle with the time to “hate”. When is a time to hate?? I was taught not to hate….. I do hate the sin of homosexuality but not the actual sinner. Is this an example of what you’re speaking about?

I am currently Lutheran and am struggling with what you said: "YOU can control the good times YOU have". I was raised in a way that teaches Jesus is the only thing we need and we are not in control. It feels like I am putting my trust in myself instead of Jesus. Is there a sort of grey area or happy medium to care for yourself and also live for Jesus? Speak to me, Lord.

It is true that God will bring out His ultimate plan for the world and that all things work for the good according to His purpose. That being said, God also gave man a free will, and allows us to make good or bad decisions. This decision making is what determines much of our quality of life. The Bible has hundreds of great, applicable principles that, if applied, can help us have a "good trip" in this life!

@@allennolan So what you're saying is: Jesus is how I get to Heaven, however the quality of my life in both Earth and in Heaven can be determined by my actions upon this Earth?

Unfortunately, and I guess I'm one of the exceptions, some of us have alcoholic abusive parents, and we not only aren't taught anything because they were inebriated 24/7, but we were beat up and beat down. We enter adulthood broken, and spend all our lives picking up the pieces. Sure we learn as we go, but much of the learning is just healing. Then when we're older, all the mistakes we had made when we didn't know better, or we were between the jobs, between the divorce, and suffering yet more consequences, that we wake up when we're 60 feeling a bit discouraged. 😢

I’m sorry you have suffered. Please remember that you’re not at fault for the actions of your parents. You are allowed to be happy. You’re allowed to feel joy and love and laugh and sing and dance. If circumstances permit, maybe you could talk to a therapist? Go enjoy tomorrow to the best of your abilities, or maybe try? I don’t know, you don’t have to listen to me, I’m a stranger on the internet, but I will pray for you and keep you in my thoughts. God Loves you, and at least one person out here is rooting for you.

That's really sad spending your life healing from pains inflicted by others. Just remember God loves you; He can turn all that pain into love and healing for others with similar history

More road blocks than you realize. Devil has all the angles covered to make life miserable. Where in the world where you can find a woman who haven't been turned out befoe legal age. Odds are you marry someone that wont work out and the legal system is on their side. Even if you do your own baggage growing up will ruin things. Speaking of my own two sisters marriage didn't work out.

Anybody Want to explain to me why Solomon had 700 wives - and 300 sidechicks? Busy guy, I’m sure.

He would tell you that they were regional and political alliances. Marrying the eldest daughter of neighboring countries and tribes was the easiest and best way for him to reach out to them and have friendly control over them. He collected wives and concubines the way we collect stamps or rare coins. It also was a way of enculturating him and his Kingship and culture into their cultures. Am I making any sense to you? I know this sounds pretty crazy, however this is what actually happened. It was more about power and control than it was about his sex life and hedonism. Blessings🌿✝️🕊️

@@billywinfield5487 The pragmatism makes sense; I just didn’t know we were allowed to set aside moral absolutes in favor of political expediency. Even his father, David, did a fair job of collecting wives. He married Saul’s daughter (Michael); he married Bathsheba - and AT LEAST one other of whom I’m not going to take time to look up. Kind of hard to break that 7th Commandment when you can simply add her to your “stable”. 🤷♂️ But thanks for your insights. P.S. The “concubines” weren’t even married to Solomon. We’d simply call them “sidechicks” today, I’d assume. (scratching my head …)

@@Jaco3688 Right..ladies in waiting, mistresses, groupies if you will..since Solomon was undoubtedly the Rockstar King 👑 of his day. He fancied himself an ambassador doing his due diligence in the pursuit of his diplomatic endeavors, without ever having to cry, "Diplomatic immunity" at any of the families if they felt slighted in any way. In short, Solomon was an incredibly blessed man, but for whom along the way forgot to Praise God from whom all blessings flow. But as he mused, turn turn turn..to every season seedtime and harvest. And life marches on🇮🇱

Not only what the other person said, but it was a form of charity toward down and out women. Women who lost their husbands due to illness or accidents, unless they could be taken care of by a wealthy family member or sons, often fell into prostitution. To be brought into a harem meant they didn't need to live on the streets as a prostitute. I'm not saying it was right or wrong, but it happened.
