You're right, the best thing about NAMM is the people! It was super hard to decide this year, but my final pick is Steve, the new guitar guy from Ibanez. He not only noodles endless blues licks, but unlike the 2024 Gibson guitar guy Matt, he shreds some Metal too and he even plays bass (only with a pick though). Also, he has tattoos, more rings than fingers AND a beard! So at 799 he's basically a steal. At the booth they told me, with a lot of practice you might even get him into really advanced guitar stuff, like doing H or having an audience!

I can't imagine there's much new technology showcased in recent years other than what is coming from computers and digital equipment. The tube amp rebirth is great and all, but now we're seeing an endless sea of boutique brands and they sell for several thousand dollars. *I love the sound of tubes, but we're all really hoping to see prices in the market comedown due to saturation, but they're just skyrocketing in opposition to the laws of supply and demand.* That is just a trend due to the last 2 generations being impulse buyers with massive credit card debt.
