Margarita is always a happy place and that joy can become into euphoric festivals if you listen to me and get on with these plans that I recommend to you. No more lying down all day on a beach like a wrapped empanada through and through, What’s up with being lazy? You came to Margarita to learn about places!
It was in Cubagua where Venezuela started. With its pearls it made Spanish monarchs rich until they depleted them. You have to go and walk through the ruins. Not just the beach. It is delicious early in the morning or at the end of the afternoon.
Eating at El Rancho del Chamaco with your feets at the sand and you get to bath at the sea while your meal is ready. Right there in Porlamar, in a swimsuit, wet and disheveled.
Make yourself comfortable in Rancho Albacora, at El Tunal beach on the Macanao Peninsula. Look… you rent it for a day or for staying over, it is right on the sea but from the top; it has a nice stove for cooking or you can ask for your food to be made, there’s a perfect bathroom and lots of places to put a hammock and receive dawn with that joy to jump into the sea right when you wake up.
You have to visit the Our Lady of the Valley Sanctuary to thank her for being able to be in Margarita, You can tell me! You have to be thankful in life.
Enjoying El Agua beach, the most atomic beach from the island since they removed all those restaurants of which many became pigsties; they understood sand and sea are for the people.
Navigate from El Tirano to Los Frailes. It is just 30 minutes and you can find the wild ranch that the people from Skull Divers have, you’ll take a bath in a little beach that’s just for you, you’ll go snorkeling, dive and you will eat delicious food in the middle of the sea.
If you like pork, go to Trocadero, right at the entrance of Pampatar, where you will be able to see a green awning. There you’ll have to try hallaquitas de chicharrón, fried pork, blood sausage, pork rind and to me, which is the best fried pork rind arepa filled with guianas cheese Oh my God!
You have to drink coconut juice. On the way to Guacuco beach there's a guy with his blender and coconuts and he will prepare it right away, however you like it in terms of sugar. I like the taste of coconut and not just sweet, but well, you can have your coconut juice however you like it.
So much going around in Pampatar from restaurant to restaurant and I’m sure you have never visited its salinas which are the ones that gave its name to the town. Come with the little girls of “Explora Margarita” they will take you in the dawn so that you can see the pink lagoon - if it hasn’t rained -, to whoever you speak to, they all work really hard to get the salt out, you’ll see how they get out the stone slabs used for flooring, doing walls and learn about the Bufon’s Cave and its two stories.
Getting bored in Margarita? Never!
