Need to be careful using an old bearing to tap the new ones in, if the old one goes deep enough and gets stuck you're in a world of hurt. These bearing/hub tolerances are quite slack so you get away with it, but i usually knock the middle race out and the balls of of the old one, then make a cut in the outer race with a grinder. That way, you can easily pop it out if it gets stuck.

Just make sure that the bearings are intended for high-speed use.

I just replaced two rusty old wheels and tyres on my little 4x3ft trailer. Bearings are fine no need to change them. I was just watching a few vids on camping trailer setups and this popped up so here I am. Have to say that even though I wont be changing any bearings any time soon I sat here with a cuppa and watched the entire vid. It was awesome, you seem like a handy guy to know, I bet your pals and neighbours are always knocking on your door asking for a hand with something. Love the look of that workbench, looks like it has seen plenty of use.

Thank you for taking the time to watch it and more importantly, giving it a chance. I don't know too much people,so i'm not that busy,but yes,i help them with their car, lawnmowers and things like that if they ask lol The workbench saw few things yes,it's way cleaner and tidier now,even if there is often something on it being worked on. : )

What a cute trailer :-D, and it looks galvanised so no rust. Now that must have been the hardest repair you have ever done :) The bench vice is my favorite tool, the ability to hold something steady and beat the crap out of it ha ha :-D I hate the throw away society and i've always repaired what i could. My frend was given an older lcd tv that would not switch on, i went straight to the switchmode power supply and found dead capacitors. I had some parts from a long dead L.G tv, plopped those in and away it went :-D I hope you are having a happy xmas time, thank you for your excellent videos :-D

Yes,galvanised . The only rust spot is on the bottom where we left a bag of leaves from a pine tree,they ate the coating with their acidity while roting and now it's rusted a bit... Me too i 'm happy to have a bench and a vice,it changes your way of working,it was really handy here ,even if the job was easy yes lol : ) I'm like you i prefer to repair and get for cheap or free lol You did good on the tv ,i did the same with a washing machine,but it rusted away a bit later, staining the clothes with rust... Happy Christmas to you too with a bunch of good food i hope : )

I seem to think that pine tree sap can be used for solder flux, but where that memory comes from i don't know lol. It sounds right as you need an acid to clean metal so the soldering works well. Shame the washing machine went rusty :-(, sounds like the drum housing was mild steel and not stainless or plastic i had a supprise, my mate that had the faulty t.v appeared at my doorstep with a big smile, he handed me a large bag of food, lots of yummy things :-D I don't expect anything from my frends other than real frendship. If you know what i mean, decent trustworthy people.

@@zx8401ztv The drum was stainless on the washing machine,but the whole machine around fell apart,so i think that bits of rust were falling in the drum when we opened the door. Like you i expect nothing when i do something for somebody i offered my services for ,or i ask money if i consider it for a job. Since i don't have friends,it's quite easy for me. I 'm careful with "helping peoples" a lot of them are hypocrits or get a very bad memory once they got what they wanted,even if you don't ask nothing in return later on. i start to understand that my own time has value,and my energy too.

You are so right with hypocrites, i've made mistakes expecting some people not to be too selfish. My real frends warn me about false selfish people, i appreciate them careing enough to warn me :-). Yes your own time has value for a person wanting a job done for a decent price. The trick is not to become selfish and looking at other people as a "Punter" that's just there to be ripped off. But i can't see you becoming like that, if you did i would have to run down the channel tunnel and slap you with a wet teabag lol :-D. You have made videos to help people or entertain them, not exactly a selfish act as you will get next to nothing from youtube for it.

@@zx8401ztv lol I'm pretty sure i'm safe until 5pm or so before being tea punched. I've seen in a reportage that UK engineers are obliged to manage current differently towards cities just before tea time just because of the water boilers lol That's crazy.

please tell me the code and dimensions for the bearings on the DAXARA 127 trailer??
@michaelovitch

A quick search on google show you numerous kits for sale. You need to be sure they are the good ones,so it's better to remove the hub and look at the numbers or dimensions on the parts themselves.

Are those the original tires? I will like to use wider ones. Is it possible? how?
@michaelovitch
Жыл бұрын
Not the original tires,but the stock size. You can use wider tires,but you need to see what width you have and what width you can use,the rims allow a wider tire. If you want really a big difference you need to change the rim to a bigger size,and you have to check the hub bolt pattern.

No freezer trick to make the mounting procces easier?
@michaelovitch
4 жыл бұрын
You could for sure,but it's less tight to mount them here than a car wheel bearing. Les interference fitting,because less weight,no lateral load on it.

I cannot work out why you smothered everything in grease. The bearings are greased on assembly in the factory and sealed. You only need to clean the faces of the bub then press the new bearings in.
