Nah I’m studying to be a teacher and I’m 23 if you wanna be an effective teacher you have to form a bond with your students but also gain their respect through that bond through things like relating to them of giving the illusion of freedom in the class. We had an older substitute when I was in highschool. Billhyemer (bill-high-mer). He was at least 70+ years old. Man was a legend at our school. We all just called him grandpa and he rolled with it. He'd dance, joke, genuinely talk to someone if they needed it, etc. The second you saw him walk into class, you'd know it's going to be a good class period. Unfortunately my senior year he had to retire due to a stroke. That school was never the same without him.

I used to be a sub and the problem with being this way is that there is always 1 or 2 kids who ruin it for the whole class. We don’t want to work hard either. Chances are we are making less than $100 a day and just want the day to go smooth. Just stay in your desk and keep your voices down. But there’s always one or two that can’t handle that and the principle comes to the sun and tells them they have to crack down.
