Another great video. Lots of good information for us city folks. It's amazing that people think you can just turn the milk production on and off, like the cows are machines. As Tracy Shewell said below, "You do a great job by the way. You explain things very well." Blessings to you and your family from a retired Pastor in Davenport, Iowa.

That last storm in April was a kick in the teeth. The hawks,robins, black birds were all coming back and than for three days them poor buggers sat there shivering. Least I didn’t have any calves born in that junk but they’re dropping now. And the snow geese are flying over head so I’m hoping whatever moisture that comes comes in the liquid form LOL

Oh that snow. Spring is coming again I promise. It’s so sad that all that milk has to go down the drain. Would it cost to much to make dry milk and send it anywhere in the world. Also when we shop for milk the stores they have a limit on it I realize that schools don’t have milk programs and no needed in other places. But since people have been off work we are using more milk in the average house hold I know I have been drinking more also baking more cooking. I thought that would even out the loss a little bit. Very sorry that good hard working farmers have to take this loss of such a healthy wholesome product. Keep up your hard work people do appreciate it and we still need you guys Thank-You so very much for everything you do. Happy Easter. 🌼🐣🐥🐰🌸

I so love the front porch of your dairy with the big timbers, it makes everything stand out and it just makes it look awesome. Ive only seen it done on log cabins. Whose idea was it? Before you built this dairy did you milk at the same location and basically added on to your old operation or did you milk somewhere else and how many cows did you milk before and how many now and do you ever expect to add on in the future. When you add heifers to your operation or herd do you then cull cows or do you just wait for the time and then cull the cow say if milk production has gone down hill, or gone limping.

I have a question regarding the current milk dumping that's happening why don't farmers turn the milk to powder and export it to china its a big problem there and they have huge shortages with quality milk powder and with baby formula as well. It could be a huge untapped market for you guys ever thought of looking into it.they had a major problem with fake milk powder and fake baby powder that killed a bunch of babies and people so foreign milk powder and baby formula are highly desirable to them. it's such a big problem they fly to australia and taiwan and buyout entire stores because they don't trust the quality of their domestic product. or do farmers have to dump the milk no matter what to maintain a stable price to not go bankrupt. hope you are staying safe. happy good friday.

We were asked to reduce production 7% on out farm. Grocery stores are out of milk and cheese but the product being produced shifted so fast the creameries can't adjust fast enough. Things like bulk proscessed cheese and small milk cartons for schools quit getting sold
@kaffmoo
4 жыл бұрын
@@tbop01 is turning it to powder for kids and adults out of the question it lasts for more than a year in powder form. does the production capacity of liquid milk vastly exceed the manufacturing ability of powder milk producers. as in is it possible to shift the 7% to powder milk and simply export it to asia , africa , the middle east , europe. it has a large market especially in areas with power issues and in china where they don't trust domestic baby formula and powder milk.
@tbop01
4 жыл бұрын
@@kaffmoo it would be a excellent destination for the milk. However no were near our area is a powder milk factory so try to change a factory from carton milk to powder would be a nightmare and takes a while to do. If all this keeps going on for a while a think something like that will be done
