I have a 2023 Norco Fluid fs 2 and it has a fox float x performance with a custom tune. I feel that this is one crazy shock it’s actually insane and feels so nice

I have extensive miles on both a Factory X (trail bike) and 2 Factory X2s (Enduro and eMTB) and they are both great but targeted for different riders. 95% of recreational riders will prefer the simplicity and reliability of the Float X. It;s very easy to tune and rides great. It lacks air can volume and is very touchy to volume spacers. The performance of the X2 is better for those that want the absolute control and tunability of the shock. Most riders that aren't very knowledgeable on tuning shocks and suspensions may have a greater chance of getting it wrong with so much adjustments. It is a better performing shock than the X but at a cost. It will require most maintenance and more time tuning but I enjoy doing it. Servicing and overhauling is about the same for both

5 star climbers is all I needed to read I do at best 20-30% downhill and the rest going flat or uphill I'm moving from a cross country muscular 120mm to a 170mm emtb X or X2 are the only options I see on them they seem to have dropped the lock setting for emtb but I still want one where I can pedal, yes the engine can do uphills but not if I want to combine 6k ft + 60 miles which I'm definitely going to do as my move to emtb is to do more quicker not less

I had the option to buy a float x Perf Elite or x2 both almost new and my mechanic recommended the float x as it has less reliability issues. I can safely say it’s a great shock all around, it tracks well and pops really predictably plus easy to tune.

Im still trying to research what is causing the X2 issues, I constantly hear about people saying the blow up and have sent it back for the third time in a month etc. someone told me it was a side load issue with trunnion mounts. I know that cascade makes sphereical eyelets for the DHX2 to help prevent side loading so I wonder if the same can be done for the X2

Note the Fox float X shock I used was a RX tune. Specialized tuned shock that is great, other Float X shock do not work as good affiliate links, stuff that I use. Hi. I’m really more of a beginner. I trust your advice on this. I had a 2020 levo SL with a fox DPS shock on it. I changed it to a float X2, but rode the bike one time before the SL Motor blew. So I recently purchased a 2023 levo SL with the stock float X shock on it. I weigh 255lbs. Should I leave the stock float X shock on it?Mpr put the float X2 on it?

There’s a massive price difference between the float X and the X2, a better comparison would have been the DPX2 vs the Float x2
@onefortysix6955

Isn’t it a 100usd price difference? And the dpx2 is on its way out so it may be moot at this point.

At 230 what pressure are you running on the X2 vs the float X vs the SD?
@OtterMTBtech
Жыл бұрын
x2 like 270 and the X was 240. shocks were 230x60mm. I had a shorter stroke x2 210x55 and had to run it 300 psi max tokens, and crank high-speed compression up.

@@OtterMTBtech you can also lift the cap, and if you get the kit, upgrade the shock that allows for 11LSC clicks. PN 808-17-470-KIT is the part number. Something to note, all stock Float X come with medium/medium compression and rebound tunes, so it will not fit every rider or bike.
