This is gold. Whitney still teaching us things even though she isn't physically here. Now I can't wait for one of my kids to get the hiccups so I can say, "Let me show you what Whitney showed me."😂

Whitney had a presence, an energy not easily explained. I always say the voice and beauty is evident but it's what was inside Whitney (her spirit) that was the most incredible. #GIFT#FROM#ABOVE ❤️

My auntie taught me that trick about 35 years ago. (When I was 2😏Just go with it😂) Since then I learned why you get the hiccups & why the trick works & I've been able to learn other ways of getting that trapped air bubble out from under the diaphragm which cause the chronic involuntary spasms we call hiccups. Now, it works every time. But Whitney's trick was how I figured it out tp begin with. My Aunt may have even learned that from Whitney. She is a huge Whitney fan. So, it's difficult to explain to people. Not everyone understands my instructions. But start with this. Get a glass of water, bend forward, (Sitting like Whitney is best), drink from the other side of the glass, upside down, like she is, if you can see it. Then if that doesn't work, there are different ways to dislodge that air bubble. For those that know how, swallow some air, like your going to make yourself burp. Leave it in & move around & try to get those air bubbles to combine together to make a bigger bubble you can burp out. Sometimes you need to swallow several air bubbles to get enough air in your stomach to make it work. Sometimes you have to strain to get every little tiny bubble out & you have to repeat this a few or even several times. You can feel it once you realize what it is. Sometimes it helps to swallow the air, then do the bent over, glass of water, Whitney trick. That way the air bubbles coalesce together better & you can burp them up easier. I just had some free time & saw this & hope it helps someone in a pinch. I know how awful it is, especially when public speaking. I used to get them before I'd have to give a speech. It was either learn how to get rid of them or go mad. I've only had a couple that I couldn't get rid of, since then. Those I had for days & I found that I had ulcers from severe acid reflux. But Whitney's trick will work most of the time once you learn how. Merry Christmas! 🎄🎅

Or rub your ear lopes while swallowing slowly and looking up. Breathe in and out for about 10 secs and voila! Hiccups gone. I do this all the time. Or 10 big gulps of water slowly.....its just trapped air...lol

I had a science teacher tell me this in high school -- you also cover the glass with a paper towel or light cloth and drink the water. It has something about drinking water and not allowing air through. The upside down part I believe takes your mind off the hiccups (it's also part mental). It's crazy, but it works - I too would get hiccups for hours before this.
