An elusive people who inhabited the Balkans along the entire Adriatic coast, the Illyrians show a dual nature, from the warlike tribes of the north to the southern kingdoms in close contact with the Greek world.
This dichotomy will always accompany the Illyrian world, which will be made up of skilled merchants and ferocious pirates, barbarian warriors and Hellenizing monarchs, and within the Roman world, indomitable rebels and faithful combatants.
In addition to providing rioters and new recruits for the legions in equal measure, the Illyrian world will even end up giving to Rome seven emperors, the famous "Illyrian Emperors" of the third century AD.
In this video we will try to follow the difficult history of Illyrian culture, to the point of trying to understand modern panillyrist theories, where they are born and with what assumptions.
