It’s similar to Canva but more focused on graphic design rather than trying to be all things in one box. Can a also just increased their pro plans substantially

Thank you for this. As a new maker tips on the design process are very helpful.

I didn’t know Kittel had a free side design section. Thank you!

Yes. It’s a bit limited, because they obviously want you to subscribe, but you can report your own images if you can’t find what you want in the free library.

Being new to lasers this is extremely helpful. Learning how to use the laser and then learning how to create your own designs. This will help for sure. Also thanks for explaining how to use with XCS as most everyone uses Lightburn.

Glad it was helpful! I’m really starting to prefer XCS over Lightburn for a lot of things. Of course it means you need to buy an Xtool laser - I really wish Xtool would open up XCS to other lasers.

@@SteveMakesEverything and to think that at one point I was going to have to learn Lightburn until I asked you on one of your live shows when you said basically the same thing.

@@ToOldToDoThis@ToOldToDoThis Make no mistake, I love Lightburn too for some things (e.g., it's best for Galvo lasers), but the learning curve is a bit steeper, and based on its usability, it is clearly designed by engineers for engineers - and being one, I can say this with confidence. XTool has spent quite a bit of time on usability, and their latest version has gotten even better.

Thanks. You can in theory use any vector graphics tool, but Kittle (especially the pro plan) has a very rich set of tools that make it pretty compelling.

At last, someone who speaks sense. As someone who likes designing as a hobby ( I give design files, not sell them) I get exasperated when people buy crap designs off Etsy and then run into problems. There is so much design software out there, both free and low cost that when I see someone has bought a file of a very simple nature, it makes me want to bang my head on a brick wall.

😁 I didn’t want to bash people trying to make a living on Etsy because there is a place for them, but basic designs for laser engraving should be within the skill set of all laser owners. I sell a few designs on Etsy, but I try to keep them as cheap as possible - and specifically to help support this YT channel.

@@SteveMakesEverything I too have no issues with people selling, as long as they know what they are doing and providing value.

The point is, that it’s easy and you can do it too! I have no artistic talent, so tools like Kittl are my superpower

You can do all that in Lightburn, just saying 😁
@SteveMakesEverything

You can, but then try to move that design to a vinyl cutter, CNC or a laser that doesn’t also support lightburn. I should really do another video to highlight why you don’t want to bet on your laser software for anything but the simplest of designs.

What did I use that wasn’t in the free version? I did say I would “try” to use only free features, but if I didn’t, there might be a workaround
