TEGOWANGI TEMPLE
Tegowangi Temple is a temple located in the Kediri district, East Java. The only remaining temple today is the foot. However, because of its rich decoration, this temple displays very high art, including a complete series of reliefs. The carvings are classified as royal, indicating this temple belonged to, or was built for, a high-ranking royal official. According to Pararaton news, although it still needs to be investigated further, this temple is a place of worship for Bhre Matahun, a relative of King Hayam Wuruk. The temple is in good condition and clean.
Tegowangi Temple is sometimes known as Sentul Temple. The first scientist to identify it was N. W. Hoepormans, followed by R.D.M Verbeek, J. Knebel (1902), and P.J Perquin (1915). Around 1984 this temple underwent restoration.
It turns out that there are many unique facts of Indonesian history that deserve our attention, of course with a new perspective. For example, about the Hindu-Buddhist kingdom in Indonesia, the Hindu-Buddhist kingdom in the archipelago, ancient Javanese philosophy, ancient Javanese philosophy, and even the habits of the Javanese in ancient Javanese culture, both in the form of writing and temples.
