I only own band shirts of my favourite metal bands. They are all folded in a way that the print isn't visible. So every morning I grab a "black" shirt and no matter what print I get I am happy because I love all of them. This way I do not have to decide which one I want to wear that day.

My "uniform" is a dress with leggings. I have 7 dresses and I go to the office 3 times a week. So I rotate and don't have to wear the same one again for a couple of weeks. Makes laundry so easy. I only have to wash my work clothes about once a month! My dresses are colorful, fun prints. For other days, jeans with a black or gray t-shirt and I add cardigans for winter months. I've been doing this for a couple of years and I love it. So easy!

The simple reason I wear black is because I'm messy. If I wear a white shirt, sometime in the day I will inevitably get a stain on it. I will have to take extra time to deal with that stain whereas black doesn't show stains as much.

I think many people have informal 'uniforms' for different occasions. I have work 'uniforms' - a few outfits I rotate that are suitable for work, that I don't tend to wear on days off. I have a gardening 'uniform' and a groundwork 'uniform'. Beyond that, though, it all gets a bit messy! Time to get more intentional. 😊

The majority of my wardrobe is black because it is my favorite color. That aside, it makes doing laundry so much easier if your clothes are in a single color family. I feel called out. I do wear most of the time the same things. two main jeans, and three color of shirt (black, grey and white, but mostly black) why ? because like you said it's easier to pick an outfit, and why black ? because if easier to clean/become less dirty. white can be tricky and any stain can be seen faster, you have to be more careful with white. And sweat can be seen with grey, so I pick mostly black but sometime I don't want to wear a black shirt so I have a few option. I have a few extra shirt with different cut that I wear sometimes, and where I bring color will be in dress shirt or accessories. Having mostly the same outfit with just a few variance allow for easier and faster laundry (from washing to folding and putting it back in the drawer), there is a sense of safety, comfort (both physically and mentally), gain of time. Simply put, it make life easier on nearly all level. and I agree, nobody ever said something about my clothes being the same.

My minimalist wardrobe has been greatly inspired by the content from A Small Wardrobe here on KZitem - definitely a great one for women. Using color analysis to determine the best & yet simple color palette to wear and then curating your outfits from there has meant that I still feel like I have some variety and self expression. I also love Courtney Carvers Project 333 to adjust to owning much less apparel. But the content on the A Small Wardrobe channel has been the ultimate. And I’ve almost entirely removed everything that is white, black, or grey from my wardrobe. They’re the wrong colors for me anyway!

As a minimalist, I used to only wear black for convenience (easier to wear, to create outfits because of the uniform thing, easier to wash together and to keep in shape and color in the washing machine, etc) but over the past two years I’ve shifted to a more colorful and white wardrobe, discarding my black clothes until I only have one black pant and black shoes. The reason for that is that I’ve found that black is a color that “absorbs”. Might sound a bit woo-woo but I think colors tend to reflect, and black and white tend to absorb(black more than white) and while I lived in a busy environment where things where visually loud, I liked to wear black to make it easier for me; without thinking I started to feel worn down and I leaned towards extreme minimalism more and more because I felt like I was absorbing outer clutter. I started to need colors, especially to wear white. So I’ve slowly started swapping clothes until I attained this upgraded, mostly white with some colorful pieces wardrobe that allows me to still wear uniform, easy to pair clothes but that’s not all black like before. It’s easy in the wash, as well, very convenient even if it’s not black. Anyway this is a topic that I am passionate about because I believe the way we dress is a way to express ourselves so color theory’s very interesting in that regard. Thanks for the video
