The reason why we create Art is a complex one due to the unclear nature we often perceive. It should be quite simple, however, so much in life competes for your attention that it becomes difficult to focus on what matters long enough to understand such a question. I'm going to help explain this process and what I've come to realize. It is quite strange to think about, and perhaps that may also be one reason for the uncertainty people may be having. When you simply look at what is going on, and follow where the energy leads, there is a pattern that emerges. You will recognize the direction that energy prefers to go, and you'll be able to learn why.
Drawing begins with a rough sketch that outlines the general shapes and broader details. The work goes through a process of building up itself towards a more clear and defined image. We must focus our energy towards this, but in the beginning there is no relativity between anything because nothing has been drawn. As we draw back on our-self, on our image, our idea, we are concentrating the energy towards something specific that we feel is important. There is some purpose to be had in doing so, as it allows us the ability to have a moment to grasp what is happening. It is not so much the result that matters, but that any result be possible from whatever vantage point we are found.
