I have a question, how come a Jew can be an atheist and still be a Jew, or how can a Jew be a Buddhist and still be a Jew, but if he is a Christian he is no longer a Jew?
@yaffahdaCosta

It is all about the idolatry (a major sin) with not just thinking Jesus us the Jewish Messiah (because speculation is not a sin) ... it's about the idolatry of Christianity of claiming that a man is GOD and can be worshipped as GOD. And further those Jews who accept that idolatry trying to convert other Jews to that IDOLATRY making that other Jew now a sinner as well (according to the Torah) which is MUCH WORSE that just sinning on one's own and leaving others to make their choices on their own. The Messy-antics have no clue what awaits them in the next world for what they are doing in trying to convert others Jews to their choice of idolatry.

@@yaffahdaCosta One thing is that their beliefs are not the same as yours, I understand that perfectly, but a Buddhist worships Buddha, even someone who is very into yoga grants his body and Hindu deities as gods, a person who consults the horoscope, worships the creation instead of the creator, a person who believes that astrological charts can predict his future is also committing idolatry, an atheist literally puts himself as god, many Jews do that and they are still Jews. Focusing on Christians, (I am not a Christian) reveals that you have a personal problem there, and it is quite contradictory as Jews who have been persecuted and murdered for believing what they believe, I understand why many Jews have a conflicted relationship with Christianity, but it is not your decision to decide who is or is not Jewish because of what others choose to believe as far as I know being Jewish is also a nationality and ethnicity and has to do with your ancestors.

@user-jg1pq1uo1p Now, you also have to inform yourselves, the "Christians" who persecuted the Jews and killed them, the Holy Inquisition etc. are Catholics, and they are completely different from the Evangelical Christians, they are almost completely opposite religions and have nothing to do with each other, so no, you are not taking revenge on those who killed you, they did not even exist at that time. In relation to trying to convert others, I really don't understand the bother, the people they are approaching are adults, with brains, and their own thoughts, if you don't want to listen to Christians don't do it, but telling others what to believe, what to think, doesn't seem to me something very Jewish to be honest. Now if Christians are putting dangerous ideas into them that endanger their life or someone else's, or send a bigoted message I would understand, but that is not the case. I don't think it's very Jewish to want to impose one's beliefs on others. Moreover, evangelical Christians are the only large group in the world that loves and supports the Jews and believes that they have a right to their land and to defend themselves

@@marialumbreras789 But are you Jewish? If not, how can you tell us we have no right to determine who is not Jewish. By the way, you miss the entire point of the video. The notion that Judaism is an antecedent to Christianity is what is at stake. Those other faiths don't have the pretense to claim they are 'fulfilling' Judaism and rendering it obsolete. Buddha would be installing another OS on your PC, whereas Christianity would claim it is 'update' to your OS, but in fact changes it to something else that breaks the entire laptop. My other argument is that according to the information I have read from yourselves, being Jewish is not just a religion , or is it , it is confusing because I have read very polarized arguments about that.

If the latter, then being a Christian Jew is no different from being an atheist Jew, or a Buddhist Jew. It is unfair to only categorize Jews for Jesus as non-Jews. Agreed, to a certain extent. Jews within "Jews for Jesus" still retain their status as Jews, but the problem is that "Jews for Jesus" and the wider Messianic movement was founded by an Evangelical Protestant gentile, and maintained mostly by Evangelical Protestant gentiles, as an effort to trick Jews into believing Evangelical Protestantism. So the question becomes "which Messianics are actually Jewish according to Halakah?"

If you would exclude Jews for Jesus for not holding beliefs that most Jews do as stated at 5:37 would you not by that logic also have to exclude atheist Jews as well? . It seems like there’s a double standard where one can be an Atheist, Bhuddist , Taoist of Jewish ancestry yet still be Jewish, yet if they profess Jesus then their Jewish identity is discounted…. . @judeancupcake7553

The key you're missing is that Judaism is an ethnoreligion. Think of us like a tribe. No one can take away someone's ancestry from them and in that capacity, Freud was still a Jew. The second point is the issue of idolatry, which is an enormous NO in Judaism. Neither Atheism not Buddhism engage in idolatry to the Jewish perspective (one doesn't believe in God at all, the other is viewed as a philosophy rather than a faith) and as such they are compatible. In Judaism Christianity is straight up idolatry and therefore not allowed. While people with Jewish ancestry can't have their ancestry removed, those who embrace Christianity are regarded as apostate, and are no longer counted amongst the tribe. They cannot participate in the closed practices of our religion such as being counted for minyan or being called to the bimah unless they choose to return to Judaism and they make appropriate teshuvah (reparation). Hope this clarifies things for you!

Please allow me to counter your points to the 5 mentioned tenets in this video @5:26: 1. Does not The Tanakh say that The Messiah will be put to death (Isaiah 53, Hosea 6:1-2 and a lot more prophecies)? The Tanakh is Truth, and Jesus was put to death on the cross (The Sacrificed Lamb for the redemption of mankind). He will return to take us Home, to The New Jerusalem (symbolic for Heaven) where David is King (symbolic for Jesus since Jesus is from David's genealogy). 2. Did not David say he was sinful from the time his mother conceived him in Psalms 51:5? Moreover, is there any man/woman who hasn't sinned at all? Death is the consequence of sin, but The LORD can't bear to see us die, therefore He laid the punishment of all mankind on Himself since His Word/Law pronounced death for sin, and His Own Blood redeemed us. 3. The 3rd mentioned tenet only applies to you if you know Jesus's Works and Nature. To truly understand this, one would have to know Jesus more personally. In short, if you believe Jesus Is Lord, you believe that God's great forgiveness and justification of sin is True, and you'll be forgiven, made Holy and perfect, just like Him. Here's an example, if it's only your actions that save you, then David should be in Hell for rape and murder. But he humbled himself and begged for mercy from The Lord. 4. We can't see God in all His Glory, else we would die. But The LORD manifests Himself in ways that are perceivable. For example, In Genesis 32 Jacob wrestles with God for an entire night, and doesn't give up until God blesses him. We know he wrestled with God because he says in verse 30 "I saw Elohim (God) face to face and my life was spared". Moreover, Isaiah 9:6 calls The Messiah "Mighty God" (we also see this in a lot of The Tanakh's Messianic prophecies). Therefore we know that The Messiah is God Himself in flesh. 5. Under what basis is the claim "The New Testament is not divinely inspired" being made? Is it not unfair to judge The New Testament without even reading it? It's just like any other book in The Tanakh. However, If you're afraid to read it, I'm begging you to please put your trust in The LORD and go for it. Take heart brothers and sisters and have Faith! If you're not ready, at least read the story of Paul the Apostle, who used to be a Pharisee during the time of Jesus. I've denied that Jesus is LORD twice since I started walking with God, and He taught me that I can never attain His Spirit unless I confess He is LORD. If you truly search for God whole-heartedly (Jeremiah 29:13) and walk with Him, He will reveal Himself to you. You will then know that Jesus Is The Way, The Truth and The Life and His Spirit will help you keep His Perfect Law (The Torah). Without Jesus's Great Mercy, I wouldn't be here commenting on this video (I probably wouldn't even be alive). Please check out the KZitem channel 'So be it' for videos with more clarity on why Jesus Is The Messiah. May The LORD bless and keep you all, Amen.

Another Question is how can Judiasm be practiced after the fall of the 2nd Temple in 70 AD? For thousands of years a Al-Aqsa mosque has stood in it's place. How could the old covenant be fulfilled without offerings at the 2nd Temple? It's pretty obvious to anyone who researches in good faith that Jesus was the messiah. The fall of the 2nd Temple just as prophesized, and the failure to rebuild the 3rd temple by Roman emperor, in an attempt to quell the spread of Christianity amongst the empire, proves undoubtable that Jesus was God.

1. Neither of these parts of the Tanakh mention the Messiah. Actually, the chapter in Isaiah specifically says that God does not take on a physical form. (By the way, the Davidic dynasty only passes through the male line, so he couldn't inherit it from Mary) 2. David does not mention his sin at all there. Sure everybody sins, and in the Jewish perspective, the only person who can atone for a sin is the person who commited it, through prayer and hard self improvement, as well as restoration if you can. Sin is the consequence of sin, you can't take on the punishment of someone else. 3. Why would God forgive you for believing in a third party? If a person who believes in Jesus commits murder, does their belief absolve them of sin? If someone stole from you, would you expect recompense if they started believing in Jesus afterward? David began the process of repentance by accepting responsibility for his own sin, see II Samuel 12:14 , 4. I don't know how you translate Isaiah 9:6, but in the original Hebrew the child is called the "prince of peace." Judaism definitely believes that god is incomprehensible to humans. That means he's not human. 5. If the Christian bible is divinely inspired, why have Christians spent the last 2,000 years editing it and retranslating it? To tell you the truth, I find the phrase "new testament" distasteful. God keeps His word eternally. The idea that the Tanach he gave us could be replaced goes against the whole of the Jewish religion.

The early Christians had their roots in Judaism or a Jewish ethnicity while believing in Jesus as the messiah. The first followers of Christianity were largely Jewish, and Jesus himself was a Jew. Over time, as the movement spread and evolved in Anatolia/the Western world, it became distinct from Judaism. The things Jesus Christ did in the new testament was literally a game changer bro. Because only in the new testament did the Lord truly show himself as the ever merciful and loving father who seriously wanted to save us despite us being ungrateful and undeserving. And that was through Jesus Christ for his fate was to give his life up in the cross to save all the sins of the world. We have been forgiven for the sins done since Adam and Eve and if you read it, you will feel so much relief and will be so glad. We will always be forgiven for our sins except for the unforgivable sin which is blasphemy and wilful rejection of the trinity (meaning someone rejects the trinity even after knowing what it truly means). The 10 commandments of the old testament have also been modified because you are not forgiven because you follwed the commandments or you did some sacrificial ritual, you are forgiven because you truly repent and have huge faith and love for the trinity. And no, there's supposed to be no idol worship even in christianity since it was never advocated. Also, christianity is not polytheistic because the trinity are different forms of one God who influences the world in different ways. Christians make mistakes, some of them being the worst and arrogant. But Jesus Christ and his teachings were never wrong. I belive this even if I'm not christian.

A sincere message to our Christian friends who are watching this, as an Orthodox Jew myself: I want to re-emphasize on Yirmiyahu's point of we have nothing against Christians or Christianity. In fact, many of us would even voice out against some of the unfriendly comments made in some recent events in Israel. There is no room for hatred and intolerance in our respective religions and communities. What we have issues with is that some members of your religion are in disguise of ours in order to attract them. This is disrespectful not only in impersonating and coverting ours, but also purposefully hiding yours in their appearances. The Jewish people is few in numbers and we uphold our values dearly, just as you do to yours. Therefore, missionaries and attempting to convert us is a huge problem to us - and that is on top of the historical trauma for us which we are trying to walk out of and engage in new relations with you. In worse cases (which unfortunately we've started to see more), it will push us away and sometimes, prompt hostile exchanges. There are things that we might never agree with, but there are more values and conducts that we share. I agree... as a Christian, deceit is forbidden, and anyone using it to convince others of something is certainly not a student of Jesus. What you are converting to is an important issue... I can see why Jews would be against conversion, given the track record. The times of the nations trampling over the holy things of Israel is drawing to a close. Part of that entails sincere students of the way of Jesus looking into who he actually was and what he actually said, what he actually believed and practiced, compared to corruptions in the history that followed. Jews should obey Torah. Alleged followers of Jesus should never have taught otherwise. Gentiles need not become Jews to follow the way of Jesus (Hashem will have loyal followers from all nations at the last day), and Israel's covenants with their God are eternal. God is not a man, that He would lie or change His mind. Alas, jealousy has spurred some heinous acts in the name of Jesus, and many will find themselves on the wrong side on the day when Hashem judges the nations. These people certainly see themselves as Jewish. I've even known one member of the Knesset who was a Messianic Jew. Believing in Jesus as Messiah did not automatically remove you from the Jewish community in the early Christian period. From my perspective, it is 100% possible for someone to be Jewish and be a Christian. I can't say that about any other religion. Enjoyed this video very much. The point about Jews not endorsing the Christian concept of Original Sin (which, btw, wasn’t even taught by Christians until the 400’s - it’s a concept created by Augustine of Hippo, not Jesus or his early followers), is at least as important as the rejection of Jesus of Nazareth as the messiah, and as the idea that one person can atone for another person’s sins. One quibble: Jews and Christians in the past have certainly worked together to solve local problems, fight off invaders, do business with each other, march for civil rights, and more. In certain places and times in central and eastern Europe, there were even Jewish knights who were allowed to carry arms and defend their city alongside Christians. Our era isn’t the first or only one in which Christians and Jews have come together for the good of all.

“Original sin” was taught way before whoever this Hippo person was. The writings of the New Testament (what Jesus taught) traces back as early as 60 AD. As for Jesus being the Messiah, it seems like everyone is getting stuck with the assumption that the Messiah will ONLY come once. Ask yourself where in the Tanakh does it infer that the Messiah will…ONLY…come once? Investigate that and I think you’ll come closer to realizing that Jesus was the Messiah.

Not all Christians believe in original sin understood as guilt from birth. Catholics do, that's why they baptise babies to potentially save them from hell in case they die prematurely. Interesting video, but as someone of ethnic Jewish roots and an Orthodox Christian, I believe this video fall short in its focus on Jews for Jesus and the Messianic Movment (as a matter of fact, I would say almost all Judaism responses to Christianity focus on this or the Medievial Catholic Church - I would liken such a focus to watering Judaism down to Hasidism) Why not take a look at the Church in your own backyard in Israel - The Orthodox Patriarchate of Jerusalem to examine what is going on there theologically? Also one other thing - conversion isn't a Jewish value? Ive encoutered some Lubavitchers whose actions would say otherwise ("Excuse me sir, are you Jewish!?") and there is some real leniency out there in Reformed cirlces with the "Jewish by Choice" stuff. Also - Ivanka Trump is Jewish, and her conversion happened in Modern Orthodoxy. The Old Testament is ripe with examples of non-Israelites becoming worshippers of Yaweh by conversion, Id be curious to know what the Rabbinical response to that is? Overall, a decent video, but I think a deeper dive is needed.

1. I don't think this video falls short since its topic is the threat of Jesus to Judaism. Messianic Judaism is on the road to destroy Judaism and is having phenomenal success largely due to the sky high rates of assimilation and intermarriage. Many evangelicals are borrowing techniques from the Messianics. I used to be asked by regular Christians to convert to Christianity, now they ask me to be a "completed" Jew. 2. I doubt that the Orthodox Patriarchate in Jerusalem is a serious threat to the existence of Judaism. Why look at it in this video? 3. Lubavitchers are generally focusing on bringing Jews closer to their own heritage. Go back a few generations on any Jew, except converts, and you will find a shomer mitzvot (religiously observant) Jew. 4. Lubavitchers do talk about B'nei Noah but they don't spend much time or effort in outreach to non-Jews about this. 5. Certainly Judaism allows for conversion. There is nothing problematic about Ivanka Trump having an Orthodox conversion to Judaism. There are many reasons why conversion has not happened in greater numbers in the past. 6. Unlike Christianity, Judaism generally does not proselytize. As a Christian have you been accosted throughout your entire life by Jews wanting to share the Torah with you and have you accept Hashem as your Savior even when you tell them you are totally not interested? 7. Since the Gentile takeover of Christianity, missionaries have been pestering Jews to become Christian. This proselytizing has ranged from annoyance to violence and even death. Rabbi Tovia Singer is correct to want to stop Christian missionaries and to rescue Jews from Christianity. 8. With a few exceptions, Jews have not proselytized but now Jews have Rabbi Tovia Singer, a pesky, thorn in the side irritation to the Christian, as unpleasant as the typical Christian missionary. I think it is very important to keep Jews Jewish and out of Christianity but Rabbi Singer is completely wrong to preach to Christians. He should absolutely refrain immediately from encouraging Christians to leave their religion. John Hyrcanus, born 164 BCE, and reigned from 134 BCE until his death in 104 BCE instituted forced conversions on the Idumeans to Judaism. The infamous King Herod is a descendant of these Idumeans. Rabbi Singer is setting up disaster for the Jewish people by stepping over the line from rescuing Jews to proselytizing Christians. We don't need Rabbi Tovia Singer to be another John Hyrcanus. 9. Not everything should be allowed even in the name of religion. All Christians and Jews should voluntarily stop proselytizing. If their religion is so truthful and wonderful, others will convert without being cajoled. 10. What leniency in Jews by Choice among the Reform do you mean? If course, when someone converts to Reform Judaism, they are instructed in the practice of Reform Judaism, not Orthodox Judaism. More than 70% of marriages in the United States of non-Orthodox Jews are marriages between a Jew and a Christian. These mixed couples find Reform as the easiest branch of Judaism since it bends over backwards to welcome interfaith couples and has embraced patrilineal descent. The Reform movement is closing down their historic Rabbinical College in Cincinnati. Many Reform Rabbinical students are demanding that they be allowed to date non-Jews. Dating non-Jews has gone from forbidden to encouraged among the Reform. Reform Temples are flooded with Christians married to Jews and many congregations give them honors and allow them to serve on the Board of Directors. 11. What Biblical examples of conversion do you cite? Why would it be problematic? As to Rabbinical response, do you mean Rabbis of the Talmud or today's Rabbis?

When a Lubavitcher asks if you're Jewish, one of two things happens: if you say no, they leave you alone, and if you say yes, they try to engage you in Jewish rituals ib an attempt to help fellow Jews reconnect. The prophet predicts that a day will come when the Jewish nation will recognise the One that was pierced as God Himself, and when that realisation finally dawns on the Jewish people, they will weep and mourn bitterly in repentance for having rejected Him for ages. Jesus ascended to heaven from the Mount of Olives (Acts 1:12). In Zechariah 14:1-4 the prophet predicts that the LORD Himself "shall go forth and fight against those nations" that will attack Israel. "And His feet shall shall stand in that day upon the Mount of Olives," the prophet writes. In other words when Jesus descends from heaven in defence of the Jewish people, His feet are going to land at the same spot from which He ascended to heaven. Oh God, when are your chosen people, the Jewish nation, going to realise this? Jesus said that as Messiah He had come to suffer and die and bear the judgement for the sins of mankind. In Isaiah 53:8-12 the prophet writes, "For He was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of My people was He stricken...when Thou shalt make His soul an offering for sin...He hath poured out His soul unto death...and He bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors." But Isaiah predicted that the Jewish people would not believe, for he begins his prophecy about the vicarious sufferings of the Messiah by saying, "Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the Lord revealed?"

@@David-zx3dr You're right. Sinful man cannot atone for sins, nor serve as intermediary between man and a Holy God. But in the New Testament it is revealed that the Holy God Himself can atone for the sins of the world, by becoming a Man Himself and taking upon Himself the judgement and punishment for the sins of all men. The Old Testament reveals that the souls of even the righteous hasidim ended up in Sheol, which the OT describes as a place filled with utter darkness, where God does not abide, and where He cannot even be praised. If, upon death, the souls of even the righteous people abode in Sheol, in total darkness and secluded from the Presence of the Holy God, what hope of repentance is there for these souls to get out of Sheol and into the eternal Presence of God? As is said in the book of Psalms, There is none righteous, no, not one. And this why in the NT it is revealed that when Jesus died, among other things, He went to Sheol to proclaim release to the captive souls that abode in the darkness and seclusion of the land of the dead. As King David himself predicted in Psalm 16 when he prophesied, "Thou shalt not leave my soul in hell (or Sheol), neither shalt Thou suffer Thy Holy One to see corruption." You see, when David died his soul went to Sheol and his body saw corruption. But when Jesus died His body did not see corruption and decomposition, because He resurrected again from death.

Yeah, this is kinda revisionist history. The early church were jews. And the qumran community already believed in the concept of the two powers in heaven. Talmudic judaism dates to the 5th century… And you clearly don’t understand christianity at all, we take our understanding out of the whole scriptures. You know, precepts upon precepts. The triune G-D is already apparent in the Torah , as The Angel of The LORD , that G-D said HIS NAME was in. Furthermore you have Ruach Hakodesh being distinct from The Ancient of Days, while there being one G-D. Oh and the word used for the true G-D in genesis, is elohim, which implies a plural. The shema also uses the word e’chad for one which can also mean unity. That’s why the same word in hebrew, when the man and the woman come together and form one flesh, is also e’chad. The triune G-D was making HIMSELF known throughout scripture and reality.

the triune god does not apearant at all. jesus didn't fullfill the prophecies thereofor he is not the messaiah. "elohim" means "forces" not "entities". "eloha" literally means "powerful one" Elohim is the name of god because he is the source of "all powerful sources". thereofor he is "elohim". the name of god is also in half of the people in the bible. the ending "yah" and "el" are names of god... so?! ruach hakodesh is not an entity, it is a state of holiness. like state of prophecy there is a state of ruach hakodesh. in the talmuding literacy the humenized it, but it is clearly only an allegory and not to be taken literally. "echad" means "one." also there are more verses: And you shall know this day and consider it in your heart, that the Lord He is God in heaven above, and upon the earth below; there is none else. "the lord" is a translation of the name "יהוה". and "god" is a transltion of elohim. the verse says explicitly, "יהוה" is "אלוהים" in heaven and earth, there is *none else* none else beside who? beside יהוה. that is clear. there is no other "entity" god have a lot of names, but he is one. and one only. it is not revisionist history, judaism had a lot of cults during second temple, the qumran scrolls were scrolls from a cult called "the Yachad cult" and they were dualists and probably agnosticts, probably took it form zoroastranism idea of two powers. this same cult also says they are the sons of "light" while the temple is the temple of "darkness". please explain this with the verses LMAO the main stream of judaism never the thought god is "two" or whatever. and never accepted this cult. not even the zadokees agreed

@@karakuri100p I am native hebrew speaker.. Elohim can mean gods and powers. the reason eloha is a name for "god" is because the meaning of the word is "poweful" and because a god is a powerful being so we call him "an eloha". elohim can mean gods but also powers. and when the bible call god "elohim" the reason he attribute this name to him is because he is the source of all powers. "sons of elohim" basically means- "sons of the powerful ones." it can mean also sons of god, but within the context of the hebrew bible, which says explicitly the god is one and have no image(see deuto chapter 4), we are left with one interpertation which is "sons of the powerful ones." also "איש האלוהים" basically means "a powerful man." (and you can say a "godly" man, because gods are powerful, and thereofor this word is used as a title for them..) hebrew does not have just words, there are meaning behind the words and a reason why a certein word is used to describe a certein object/creature/entity/whatever. like. elohim is a great example of that. as because the original meaning is "powerful" it is used to as a title for powerful beings.

@karakuri100p Elohim is the name of god. but the reason is the name of god is because the meaning of this word means "powers" (and insingular- Eloha=powerful) and because god is the source of all powers, this name is attributed to him and used in the bible as one of his names. genesis 1:5 let me tell you, go to every dictionary- echad(אחד) means "one". I don't know from where you brought this translation. but it's wrong. (i chekced, it is a protestant bible. I am in shock how they translated the bible falsly) you litereally even copied the original hebrew verse, where it says: וַֽיְהִי־עֶ֥רֶב וַֽיְהִי־בֹ֖קֶר י֥וֹם אֶחָֽד - אחד = echad = one. and you ask how that makesens he says one day, when in the second day it says "and there was evening and there was morning *second* day"? it is because when the first day were happening, there was no next day in line, the first day, on the time of is creation, was the *only* day. thereofor the bible says "one day" and not "first day". and the translators thought they are smarter the god and changed the meaning.. nice. genesis 1:25 it is to show you the humility of god, that even though he does not need advice, he counseld with the angels(which also created in the image of god) on creation of adam.? and for us to not get confused, the torah explicitly return to singular tongue on the verse of the creation itself, to imply that only god is the creator. and the "us" were the angels he counseld with- as in the next verse the verse says: "ויברא" (created, in the singular form). if it was multiple, it should have said "ויבראו" in the plural. and it is true god does not need help. but it is a lesson for us. if god even counseld creatures lesser then him infinitly, then we also can show humility, and not discard every person that look lesser than us. as I told you, I am a native hebrew scripture. I know hebrew fluently. and even better then a lot of native hebrew speakers. and those questions, you don't need to be expert in hebrew to know "ויברא" is singular form. and that "echad" means one. it is something every 5 year old knows.. when he learns hebrew.

I listened to This and as growing up in a christian environment and in a secular family in Switzerland, I like more the Jewish version of believing, even if I’m agnostic. One of the things that disturb me in Christians is, that they always want to bring people into their belief system and what releases me in Judaism is, that I’m not born as sinner. That not my belief makes me go to hell (if there is one except the one we’re living in) but my actions. Also to believe that god sends people into eternal burning fires, contradicts a loving god.

@@OneMondBand Thank you. As an ex-Christian, I actually wish the Jews would proselytize more. Judaism makes much more logical sense than Christianity, and even though many Christians knew that their religion doesn't make logical sense, they simply don't have anything else. They do not have an alternative explanation to replace the errors. Christianity is too good at marketing. If that's what's most readily available rather than Judaism, people are going to choose that over Judaism. To me, it is better to learn the right concepts first than trying to correct a bad mistake. Detoxing the mind takes a long time, and I am still in the process of detoxing.

Tovia's a liar and he takes advantage of people who can't speak Hebrew to follow his cult. He makes money off gullible people like you by replacing scripture with Rashi mistranslations and trying to tell you that the real Tanakh is worded wrong. I can debunk every one of his videos. Yeshua is the Messiah - the sadducces in his day were corrupt political leaders and they didn't believe in a Messiah - that's why they killed him. But God orchestrated it that way as we needed a perfect blemish free lamb. Yeshua is our Passover Lamb. Read *EXODUS 12* 👇 1 And the Lord spake unto Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt saying, 2 This month shall be unto you the beginning of months: it shall be the first month of the year to you. 3 Speak ye unto all the congregation of Israel, saying, In the tenth day of this month they shall take to them every man a lamb, according to the house of their fathers, a lamb for an house: 4 And if the household be too little for the lamb, let him and his neighbour next unto his house take it according to the number of the souls; every man according to his eating shall make your count for the lamb. 5👉 *Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male of the first year* 👈: ye shall take it out from the sheep, or from the goats: 6 And ye shall keep it up until the fourteenth day of the same month: and the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it in the evening. 7 And👉 *they shall take of the blood, and strike it on the two side posts and on the upper door post of the houses* 👈, wherein they shall eat it. 8 And they shall eat the flesh in that night, roast with fire, and unleavened bread; and with bitter herbs they shall eat it. 9 Eat not of it raw, nor sodden at all with water, but roast with fire; his head with his legs, and with the purtenance thereof. 10 And ye shall let nothing of it remain until the morning; and that which remaineth of it until the morning ye shall burn with fire. 11 And thus shall ye eat it; with your loins girded, your shoes on your feet, and your staff in your hand; and ye shall eat it in haste: it is the Lord's passover. 12 For I will pass through the land of Egypt this night, and will smite all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt👉 *I will execute judgment* 👈: I am the Lord. 13 And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, *I will PASS OVER you* , and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt. *THEY ESCAPED JUDGEMENT ONLY BY THE BLOOD OF A BLEMISH FREE LAMB!* - *KEEP READING!* 👇 21 Then Moses called for all the elders of Israel, and said unto them, Draw out and take you a lamb according to your families, and *kill the passover* *(THE LAMB IS THE PASSOVER)* 22 And ye shall take a bunch of hyssop, and *dip it in the blood* that is in the bason, and *strike the lintel and the two side posts with the blood that is in the bason* ; and none of you shall go out at the door of his house until the morning. 23 For the Lord will pass through to smite the Egyptians; and👉 *when he seeth the blood upon the lintel, and on the two side posts, the Lord will pass over the door, and will not suffer the destroyer to come in unto your houses to smite you* 👈. 24 And ye shall observe this thing for an ordinance to thee and to thy sons for ever. 25 And it shall come to pass, when ye be come to the land which the Lord will give you, according as he hath promised, that ye shall keep this service. 26 And it shall come to pass, when your children shall say unto you, What mean ye by this service? 👇👇👇 27 That ye shall say,👉 *It is the sacrifice of the Lord's passover* 👈, who passed over the houses of the children of Israel in Egypt, when he smote the Egyptians, and delivered our houses. O Mary, be devoutly obedient to your Lord and prostrate and bow with those who bow [in prayer]." He will speak to the people in the cradle and in maturity and will be of the righteous. She said, "My Lord, how will I have a child when no man has touched me?" [The angel] said, "Such is God ; He creates what He wills. When He decrees a matter, He only says to it, 'Be,' and it is. He will teach him the Scripture and wisdom, the Torah and the Gospel, And [make him] a messenger to the Children of Israel, [who will say], 'Indeed I have come to you with a sign from your Lord in that I design for you from clay [that which is] like the form of a bird, then I breathe into it and it becomes a bird by permission of God.(Quran 03:45-49) "[The Day] when God will say, "O Jesus, Son of Mary, remember My favor upon you and upon your mother when I supported you with the Pure Spirit and you spoke to the people in the cradle and in maturity; and [remember] when I taught you writing and wisdom and the Torah and the Gospel; and when you designed from clay [what was] like the form of a bird with My permission, then you breathed into it, and it became a bird with My permission; and you healed the blind and the leper with My permission; and when you brought forth the dead with My permission; and when I restrained the Children of Israel from [killing] you when you came to them with clear proofs and those who disbelieved among them said, "This is not but obvious magic." Starts the video off with a mocking picture of Jesus - great. A Jew CAN be a Christian. DNA doesn't change with belief. Sorry. Being Jewish is not synonymous with following "Judaism"(pick whichever flavor you like - there are many) My wife is Jewish, her mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother etc... Our son was baptized into the Eastern Orthodox Church - he is Jewish no matter how much liberal "johnny come lately" judaism would like to take that away from him along with "othering" him from the rest of his family that is not Christian. This video also does a fine job of butchering the early history of the Church. "Unpacked", says it has nothing against Christianity... If this in any way was an attempt at ecumenism...with the mocking picture of Christ, butchering of history, ignorance of DNA...Unpacked has failed miserably.

I'm genuinely curious, if Judaism sees God as singular, what do Jews make of verses like: Genesis 1:1-2 where there is "God" and "Spirit of God" are two distinct persons Genesis 1:26 where God refers to himself in plural first person pronoun Isaiah 9:6 where Isaiah prophesied a Son who is called "The Mighty God", yet is also called "The Everlasting Father" Psalm 110:1 where David said "The LORD said to my Lord". Who are these two distinct entities? (obviously I'm no Hebrew scholar, so if you want to enlighten me with the original Hebrew words please do)

The traditional Jewish understanding is that although G-d is one, the way we see Him interact in the world can seem to us to be different. G-d can act in mercy or in judgment. He can act in love or in punishment. It’s still only one G-d. Also, as said above, the word that is translated lord means master and isn’t a divine name.

1- the spirit of god, means a literal spirit god created which is hovering above the water. in hebrew it makes more sens, it is likes: "god's spirit." the spirit which belong to god- which god created. 2- he refers to the council of angels. (according to the scienctific research on the bible though, it is a remenance from the time israel were still pagans. yet I am answering traditional jewish orthodox answers and not ones from scientific research) 3- el(god) in hebrew, also used to describe "strong", "el gibor" - strong god. basically a strong man. like "the son's of god." is translation to- strong people. it is specifically with the word "el" or "eloha" or "elohim" (the "el" word tree). because "elohim" also means "powerful." and not only the name of god. everlasting father is just an allegoric description, basically the father of an everlasting reign. 4- the correct translation is: "of david a psalm, the word of the lord say to my master." not "my lord." there is the word "אדוני" that pronounced like- "adonai" which is synounymous with "יהוה" (The Lord") but there is the word "אדוני" that pronounced like - "adoni") which means just regular 'master'. and not the name of god. in hebrew there are no scoring letters, so the pronounciation is basically interpertation. and here it's can be interperted either way. yet, because it is the way you decide to pronounce it. but, because we know from other places there is only singular god, (hear o israel the lord is our god the lord is one. and other verses) so the only one interpertation that makesens is this. but you can also understand the verse totally differend. instead of "of david a psalm" in hebrew it's can be understood: "a pslam for david" instead of "of a david psalm" which basically make the verse makesens a lot. because this song is not sang by david but by someone attributing it to david, which says "the lord" told "my master" (david) to sit beside him etc etc either way, those are some of the jewish interpertations on those matters. hope that helped.

This was the '90s, the time of hard copy phone books and landlines, and when I answered a call, a man asked for my roommate, saying he was an old friend of his. My roomie wasn't home, but later said had never heard of this person. He still called him back to find this was a fishing expedition by Jews for Jesus. The fact that he was a Jewish sounding last name in the white pages was sufficient to make him a target. That's as dishonest as it gets.

This video is meaningless to me since you do not challenge the idea of Jesus being a messiah with biblical scripture; instead, you jump to the conclusion only by saying that Judaism does not believe in such a thing. We would appreciate being informed and learning more about your understanding of the Torah to challenge the New Testament scripture. Perhaps you could look into some pertinent sections to back up your argument and better comprehend your points of view. biblically Jew/Yehudi means a people from the kingdom of Judea(from the tribe Judah who went to southern Israel with a tribe of Benjamin), that's it. it is not religion. if a person from Judea became Christian, he is still Jewish/Yehudi, it's his/her tribe which she came from, and you can't take their identity.

Homeboy doesn't even read his own Torah and the Old Testament. Proverbs 30:3-4 "I neither learned wisdom, nor have the knowledge of the holy. Who hath ascended up into heaven, or descended? who hath gathered the wind in his fists? who hath bound the waters in a garment? who hath established all the ends of the earth? what is his name, and what is his son’s name, if thou canst tell?" 1 Corinthians 8:6 "But to us there is but one aGod, the bFather, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one cLord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him." Isaiah 7:14 "Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name eImmanuel." Luke 1:35 "And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God." Micah 5:2 "But thou, Beth-lehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting." Matthew 2:4-6 "And when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he demanded of them where Christ should be born. And they said unto him, In Bethlehem of Judæa: for thus it is written by the prophet, And thou aBethlehem, in the land of Juda, art not the least among the princes of Juda: for out of thee shall come a cGovernor, that shall rule my people Israel." Psalm 22:16 "For dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the wicked have inclosed me: they pierced my hands and my feet." John 19:23-24 "For these things were done, that the scripture should be fulfilled, A bone of him shall not be broken. And again another scripture saith, They shall look on him whom they pierced." Read all of Isaiah 53 which literally describes and prophesies the suffering, crucification, and atonement of Jesus Christ, Yeshua. Isaiah 53:1-12 Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the Lord revealed? For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him. He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth. He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken. And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth. Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in his hand. He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities. Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors." Also Read Daniel chapters 7 and 9 which talk about the Messiah being called the son of man and is given power/authority from God. Mentions the Son of Man (Jesus) would be on the right hand of God and the Messiah will come back 2 times (just like Jesus will) and the Temple is prophesied to be destroy. I could go on but it is only through faith and sincere desire for searching the truth will you know God is loving and that his Son, Yeshua is the Messiah.

It is interesting to see how Jews view Christianity’s main teachings. Overall I felt that this video was very disrespectful to Jesus and Christianity. But I guess it makes sense for you to hate Jesus since you feel he misled many of your nationality.
@stephenfisher3721

Being misled by Jesus is not really the issue. It is the long history of violence done in the name of Jesus. Ever since the Gentiles took over Christianity, it has been a nightmare for the Jews: violence, forced conversions, Crusades, Inquisition, Martin Luther, pogroms, and Nazis. Because the Jews were seen as Christ killers, many Christians were willing, if not eager to kill Jews for the Nazis or at least acquiesced.

Throughout history, conversion to Christianity was generally seen by Jews as being a traitor to the Jewish people. Even Jews who did not practice Judaism or believe its teachings, often felt an aversion to the name Jesus, the word Church, and the the image of the Cross. In the past when Jews became Christians it was clear; no more despised and hated Jew but rebirth as God's beloved Christian. With the new approach, Jews are told the most Jewish thing to do is accept Jesus; you are a completed or fulfilled Jew. Some say Believer instead of Christian and Yeshua instead of Jesus. Some obscure the cross with the use of Jewish symbols. All this is done to more successfully evangelize as Jews can now convert without guilt or feeling like a despised traitor. Realize that all these thousands of Messianic Jews who combine their Christianity with Judaism would be sentenced by the Inquisition. There were a number of forced conversions in Spain. In 1492, all unconverted Jews were expelled. After a few generations, the vast majority of the descendants of converted Jews were true believers in Jesus but the Gentile Christians did not trust them. The Inquisition was established to investigate heresy. Simply cooking in olive oil instead of lard was enough to bring you before the Inquisition. Ironically the Inquisition tortured and burned at the stake many true believers in Jesus. The Inquisition actually caused many descendants of Jewish converts to reconsider.

There are soooo many reasons. In our Hebrew Bible, our most sacred prayer, is the Shema, which states "Hear O Israel, the lord our g-d, the lord is ONE. We were chosen by god to keep our covenant to him and only him. Also, Jesus did not fulfill the messianic prophecies of the Old Testament per the scriptures: Isaiah 11:1-9, Isaiah 2:3-4, and Micah 4:2-3 and we do not follow the New testament, as our prophecies ended 400 years before it was written. Those are just a few reasons.

As a Jew whose parents were survivors of the Holocaust, whose father was the only survivor of his family of 30 murdered in the death camps, whose mother witnessed her father arrested and murdered by the SS, whose parents emigrated to British Palestine and helped birth and build the nation of Israel, I understand the intense feelings of fear and betrayal watching our fellow Jews come to believe in Jesus. I understand the anger and resentment of Jews who feel our religion is being co-opted by "Christians" who were born Jewish and now claim to believe that Jesus indeed is the Messiah. As a Jew's Jew, circumcised on the 8th day, Bar Mitzvah'd at 13, who speaks and reads fluent Hebrew, studies Torah and Talmud and who has searched scripture, explored 1900 years of not only theological contention between Christianity and Judaism, but who has studied, seen and experienced vile anti-semitism on the part of those claiming to be followers of the "Christ" - I get it. As a physician and Professor of Medicine, I have a reasonably staunch appreciation for honest academic exploration. Jesus, the Jewish prophet, had himself been co-opted by much of the Gentile world over the last 1900 years for mostly political and denominational purposes and himself converted into a Gentile god through serious misapplication of both the Tanach and the "New Testament" - every book in both written by Jews, to Jews, about the G-d of the Jews...the One and only Singular God of the Universe. And through all of this, 44 years ago, I came to also believe that this Jesus is indeed the Jewish Messiah. In doing so, my journey for the last 4 decades has been a very Jewish journey, having become more deeply Jewish than even the young man I was, who yearned for exploring Jewish truth and finding the Jewish Messiah in the writings of our own scriptures some 4 decades ago. Here is the ironic part...I have received more persecution and vilification from my fellow Jews over the last 44 years than I ever did from any of my Christian "enemies." Some of my Jewish detractors have been orthodox or conservative, but most of them were at best agnostic in there belief in the G-d of our people, and many completely atheistic. Yet, they have been glorified as "defenders of our faith" against those who actually have fallen more and more in love with the G-d of Avraham, Yitz'hak and Ya'akov every day of our lives. Quite ironic indeed. I have a singular request of those who have watched this video: talk to a Jew who believes they have found the Jewish Messiah. Explore for yourself. Put aside the fear that these kinds of videos and literature try to foment through paranoid delusions of some hidden agenda in "Jews for Jesus." Develop relationships. I and others like me have no hidden agenda at all. It's on the table - for everyone to see. Although I am not part of the "Jews for Jesus" ministry, I am a Jew, and I believe unequivocally that Jesus is the Jewish Messiah. That realization AS A JEW came and still comes at great expense. When one finds a gold mine of truth, more gold than an individual can ever want or need, a good person (vis a vis, a good Jew), would want to share that gold with anyone and everyone. As the earliest followers of Jesus - all Jewish - shared the Besorah, there's no hidden agenda. Talk to a Jew who believes...get to know them. As this video says, we all have free will. You don't have to believe, you can reject everything we have come to know and believe. But you also don't have to fear that "we" Jewish believers are trying to do anything subliminally. We are all on a journey, hopefully most of us are on a journey to find truth and not run away from things that might be uncomfortable. And, please do yourself a favor, seek for yourselves. The theological arguments in this video against the Messiahship of Yeshua (yes, Jesus had a Hebrew name...imagine that), and the silly video clips are so over-the-top dramatic and seems to me to be concocted to steer you away from serious contemplation. To argue against "5 tenets" of an organization as "proof" that Yeshua is indeed not the Jewish Messiah...seems to me to be more disingenuous than anything I have seen in "Jews for Jesus" or any Messianic congregation for that matter. I will end with this...as I have told my Christian and Jewish friends who ask me when I converted, I have never converted. I am more Jewish today than I have ever been. You can't put the foreskin back once it's removed.

The first century "christians" were actually, Jews of a split off sect, to the best of my knowledge. Outside of their belief in Christ, being the Messiah, they were Jews in pretty much, every other respect. I DO, hope most modern day Jews understand this much, at least. The Christians of Jewish background were overwhelmed by the Gentiles who took over the Church. The Gentiles forbade keeping kosher, circumcision, and observance of the Jewish Sabbath and holidays. Christian groups like the Ebionites and the Nazarenes were labeled heretics and persecuted by the Gentile Christians. @@stephenfisher3721 The "Gentile dominated Christian Church" that you speak of is the catholic church that originated with Constantine in the second century. Being anti-Semitic, he and his cronies forbid the observance of the Saturday Shabbat and the Feasts of the Lord. He was the one who made the Sunday observance mandatory - not because the Messiah was raised on that day, but because he worshiped his sun god, "sol invictus" and was a pagan until the day he died and ONLY then he converted. God never changed the Saturday Shabbat - which is the LORD'S SHABBAT - it was changed by man.
