I purchased my Globemaster 6 months ago as my everyday watch and I love it. I bought it on the bracelet and got the leather band + deployant on the side. Not overly flashy but it can catch some nice light on the narrow coin-cut bezel. Definitely doesn't get the love and respect that it deserves but I enjoy being part of the small club of Globemaster enthusiasts instead of being one of a million people with a Speedmaster.

I super love this globemaster, firstly eye caught me is in sept of last year., that moment was equipped with leather strap which is so beautiful, attracted by its special material fultted bezel, pie pan dial, 8900 inhouse movememt, so unfogetable. This yr I finally save enough bullet to get it but equipped with metal bracelet which is perfect match with the case, on the wrist is super comfortable. I super love this review which present this gm very down to earth and in reality, thank you!

It’s overlooked, but a fabulous watch. Would prefer it on a fine leather strap. For a brand that offers over 1600 individual SKU’s, this is a relatively small collection. The dial you chose is a winner and would be my choice, but I believe they could offer a more dial colors. The annual calendar is also growing on me. This version at 39mm is really in my comfort zone of wearability however. Nice review, enjoy your stellar watch.

Thank you, my friend. I am enjoying the watch very much and it is not leaving the collection soon, if at all. The Annual Calendar version is an absolute winner too, but just a bit too big for my taste for this type of watch.

Thank you for the review. This is a stunning timepiece and a very underrated watch. The Omega Constellation Globemaster is not popular in the United States but extremely popular overseas. I’m really it sure why this is the case. I was gifted the sunburst green dial annual calendar. I really loves this one with the complication it is. The coin edge / fluted bezel really stands out. Thank you again.

Great videos!! The only omega I like, especially white dial. Currently own 216570 Polar and 116613LN Sub. Owned a 126335 Datejust Jubilee and got rid of it for a trade with the Sub. No regrets at all, both super blingy but I love yellow gold. I agree with your points on DJ. Currently 35, my grail is 116503 Daytona which I’ll get in a few years lol! I’m happy with my current collection, even if I never add another watch again. Thanks for your input it’s awesome and your videos are really chill! Cheers 🍻

Good video, it's a great choice, and you obviously considered it well. I choose the most underrated version of the most underrated Omega, the Opaline silver dial Globemaster. I know that the blue dial is the fan favorite, and it is very beautiful and the dial pops more, but I tend to prefer more austere aesthetics that are even more subtle, so the silver dial version suits me best... the dial looks flat in some light, and becomes dimensional in a different light, white sometimes and silver in other times, and that's what I like about it, it's visually very quiet, but those in the know, know what this watch is about. I've had my Globemaster since 2018, and it's been my daily wearer since then, it's definitely a watch for life, at least for me. Enjoy your Globemaster, it's definitely something different from the majority of watches you'll see people wearing.

I got the same in silver and I like it more and more as days pass by. I still don’t know if it’s a dress or sports watch. I guess it can be both as my Cartier santos. It can go well wearing joggers and white snickers or dress shirt and dress shoes. Very versatile, low key , high quality watch.
@mountainpeakcloud8442
Жыл бұрын
@@isaacc154 Yes, after having it for close to 5 years now, I don't try to define it with strict categories. It's basically become my everyday watch, regardless of what I'm doing that day. These days it seems people (watch collectors) have 1 or more watches for every possible activity, but the GM harkens back to a time when people basically had 1 watch for everything, and that's how I like to think of it, and its aesthetic lends itself to being that kind of watch.

@sweepingseconds8897

Thank you! Man, the JLC Master Calendar is one heck of a watch. Been wanting one myself too but comes at a premium over this GM. Can't go wrong with either but I think the GM will bring you more versatility and ruggedness, especially on the bracelet. The JLC on the other hand will be more dressy, have more interesting complications and is so damn classy.

Great piece and great video. Very well written. I love everything about this watch and I agree with everything that you said. That said, I would add to the two things you mentioned on how to “improve” the Globemaster: a screw-down crown. Living in a tropical country where dust and humidity are a painful constant reality, it would have made for a more perfect watch, if there is such a thing. If I may ask, what made you pick the blue dial over the white? But to be honest, I’d pick the blue dial too.

my theory on why it's not very popular is that it's too similar to the AquaTerra to justify the $2000 price difference. I think the AT is a go-to for a lot of people who want a versatile watch that can work in both formal/casual settings
@sweepingseconds8897
2 жыл бұрын
I can appreciate why some people feel that way. Peesonally, I find the AT a tad too sporty for my liking, and I find the fit of the 41mm too bulky. The 38 mm AT is a much better fit but still sporty. The fit of the GM is more comfy and looks much more elegant on the wrist, IMO.

I liked the way you explained why we are watch enthusiasts. I feel the same way, sacrifice, many sleepless nights, discipline and constant perseverance. I have a few watches from Casio to Omega and I wear them all. When I wear a particular watch I go back in time and remember the changes I’ve had in life, the people that helped me to get there and the gratitude in the opportunities the Almighty had given me. I also agree you should never, ever buy over MSRP. I do not want to sound presumptuous but I can buy a Rolex if I want to. Regardless of the quality built and prestige of them I just do not like the way their marketing is build upon. Also the exaggerated urge to have one by paying sometimes triple of their original cost is a very bad deal. I just when into the “Rolex list” on an AD to acquire one of them around Christmas, I do not think I will. I am going to choose the Globemaster is silver dial. When I see Rolex, if it’s not bought MSRP, I see a good watch acquired for gaining popularity and status. When I see Omega or Zenith I see sacrifice and personal achievement. Great video!!!!

good review but while i think now u believe this size is fine and anything smaller is weird, sooner or later u might feel 40mm is too big for a dress/formal occasion watch .... and even for GADA watch 40mm might also be considered too big as well. it all depends on how we are used to what a watch looks on our wrist. start wear a smaller watch and u might get used to that

Yes, my preference may change over time. It already has changed a lot since I first started collecting. For now though, I am still in the 38-42 mm zone with 39-40 as the sweet spot. I do wish I could pull off smaller sizes but I feel my wrist is too big (7 to 7.25 inches) for anything below 38 mm. Cheers and thanks for watching.
