I am from Canada and we spent our 50th anniversary in Nashville and hoped to go back again next year, thinking I may go with a friend on a bus tour. Enjoy your thrifting, I love to do that also. love your channel.

You are my mentor Sandra. I love your home decor, personal style, casual elegance. I so agree on fast fashion and would rather buy investment pieces or consignment. And as a senior there is no reason to give up on style! I dress for the day and avoid the trap of just grabbing anything handy to wear. Thrifting and consignment shopping saved me when i was a young mother also. I had a relationship with one consignment shop whose owner called me when she got in pieces she thought I'd like before shw put them out for sale! She was my own personal dresser. It made me feel special and it was so uplifting.❤

I'm 70 years old and I volunteer at our local St. Vincents. It's a Catholic charity thrift shop. Love it. I get first pick at what comes in, and find things with the tags still on it ( like who does not return things?) One thing I would ask everyone is. If you want to donate something, Please don't donate anything that is dirty, stained, or missing buttons and broken zippers! We have to just throw that stuff away, and it costs money to fill that green garbage bin. ( and that takes away from the charity and in helping others).

My grandmother was a fine tailor of men’s suits and fine women’s dresses. She would buy good woolen thrift clothes, take them apart and then tailor into coats. She would then send them to struggling families in Finland. She was an immigrant to the US post WWII. She taught me so much about being practical. ❤

I’ve been thrifting, flea marketing, yard saling and antiquing since I was a teenager. I’m now 73. Like you, both myself and my children were well dressed during hard times. I furnished my home as well. I even resold some things of value that I didn’t want and made lots of money in the process. It is a thrill and such excitement finding something special for a fraction of the cost. When people compliment me on my clothes, I just say thanks. 😉

I just went to a thrift store today! I go weekly. The best clothes I have... and the prettiest, have come from the thrift store. Today I got a gorgeous basket. Like you, Sandra, it was a lifesaver when my girls were small. And now they love it, too. My weakness is table linens. Lace, linen, doilies, embroidery, etc. All your outfits were gorgeous. I am obsessed with the white pants. They look like perfection on you! Enjoy the rest of your trip 😊

Sandra great fashion show! Yes I’m also a Thrifter. I love the thrill of the hunt. I have an eye for quality & favorite designers that are the best quality. I feel so good when wearing them. Nothing like real wool, silk & linen. After I retire my clothing I use them in my embellishments, quilting & fabric collage recycled clothing. I recently found a J. crew women’s blouse made with Liberty of London fabric & I’m using it in my “Tiny House” quilt using all my scraps of fabric. Each house 🏠 is a different fabric & it will have many memories! I’m also making a Grandmother Quilt tiny house Eye Spy with my scraps. Hard for me to ever throw away any beautiful quality fabric. My sweaters I just upcycle & embellish make into cardigans add silk flower yo-yos & it’s a one of a kind creation! I also have 4 dollhouses one with a secret library with antiques. I find many tiny treasures Thrifting. Love your videos Sandra happy Thrifting. 💃🏻💕🏠

Good Morning Sandra, I love that you thrift, I am a thrifter, I always donated, but years ago I never even stepped foot in Goodwill, then fast fashion just turned me off, I got tired of buying clothes only for them to be thrown away after a few washings. I started to thrift and I found the most beautiful clothes, good quality and the fabrics are amazing. Sometimes I walk out without anything, some days I find treasures.. I love the thrill and the hunt too. I made a few rules for myself, I only buy quality material, quality designers.. I love your finds, here in South Carolina tops are $4.79 pants are $6… My daughter and granddaughter and I thrift together, we have such fun I recently donated my whole closet of clothing, because I lost the 20 lbs I have been wanting to lose,I went down 3sizes, so I have been having such a good time thrifting a brand new wardrobe… it’s my new hobby😊 What a lovely dream you had, I hope you have many more of dancing with Arthur, I always believe a dream is a visit from our loved ones ❤

My mum said: "I once bought a suede jacket from a charity shop and I was very proud of it." eBay has some things you can't normally buy and was lucky to find Liverpool UK sweat pants (trackies/tracksuit bottoms). I'm in my 70's now but most of my life and certainly when my children were growing up we had little money so I used to go to second hand shops and buy hand knitted jumpers which I pulled back and reknit as jumpers and cardigans for the kids. In the same way I used to buy good quality cotton clothes items and cut them up and reuse to sew clothes for them. Sheets were cut down the middle when worn and sewn "sides to middle" as my mother showed me so "thrifting is as old as the hills; just called something else. I always look forward to these little chats as they are so calming and at the same time thought provoking.

I am always in the charity shops everywhere I go. I am addicted to them. I went to the supermarket earlier today, I was wearing a blouse which I purchased from one of the shops. I was going about my business pushing my trolley down the aisle when this young man approached me. Excuse me he said, would you mind me telling you something? No I said, go ahead. I think you are absolutely beautiful he said and told me that I had made his day. Well he certainly made mine🤗. I’m 66 years of age and I apparently still have it. Waiting at home for me was my husband of 27 years. By the way, he is my toy boy. He is 50. So ladies get yourselves to all the charity shops. You never know what you may find. 🤣🤣🤣. My sister Linda, God rest her soul, got me into thrift shopping back in the 90's. I was very hesitant at first but decided to try it. I was HOOKED after the first time and never stopped. My kids were young and in school then and we got all their clothes from thrift shops and Goodwill. The teachers always complimented us on how well dressed our kids were. We weren't strapped for money, not well to do either, just average, and the savings were incredible, especially with 5 kids. I'd say 95% of my clothes are thrifted and almost every decor in my house is thrifted too. Now my daughter is a huge thrifter and her 14 year old son, my grandson, is hooked on it too. He shows me his latest clothes collection all the time. My daughter said he gets the biggest thrill when he finds pants or shirts he loves as well as "things" he finds for such little money. We call it the thrill of the hunt. So the thrill is being passed down through the generations. 😊

Remember when wearing polyester was like wearing a plastic trash bag? It's incredible the fabrics made from petroleum these days, breathable, looks great, feels good BUT, I grew up loving real cotton. Even brands you could count on (Pendleton) for 100% cotton have gone astray into oil products. Most of my furniture is either beautiful pre 20th century antiques purchased decades ago when I was in the business or second hand thrift shop high quality, bargain price pieces. At 70, beginning to sell my collections, piano shawls; beaded purses; Whitney Pointe blankets; someone will liquidate, it might as well be me and I'm into ukuleles and guitars now so the money will be going towards music Love your show Sandra; and your incredible positive energy.
