To make it even worse Putins war has a ethnic clensing factor, when mobilisation is targeted to countryside where ethnicities live. Same though happened also in 1930's when ethnicities were most targeted by Stalins terror. Russia is only country which has not faced its responsibility of starting WWII. @@JD-rt5sd I'm sure it will. The Pentagon usually takes what it wants anyway, but it's hard to imagine though when Ukraine has more casualties than the US in WW2 and the Bakhmut western side/city center was taken by Wagner yesterday, and there is now one bridge into the city, other NATO nations will not join the fight and support is majorly weaning, even in the US. The head US 4 Star General just said "unlikely Ukraine will take back any land ("this year", to put his little political spin on it) and Zelensky saying last week his forces are "virtually out of ammo." Switzerland and Austria also both announced it is no longer formally supporting Kyiv. What an idiot. And you want to take the bet that it will join when Putin said he will use the nuclear option if it does, and guess what? When he does, it won't be on Ukraine, no, no, no. He has no intention of that. It would the major western European and North American targets. And these tanks and possible few planes that Ukraine are receiving are likely the last things they are going to get.

I feel very sorry and sad for the Russian people. It seems that people over there are lost. They have no sense of true freedom and inner happiness like in other free countries. The damages resulted from the soviet era and the transitional corrupt Russian regimes in the 90s followed by the Putin regime are so deep that I have little faith how the Russians will come out of this and join the rest of the world again. Most of the countries of the world dislike Russia (sadly). Russia needs to start a cultural revolution at a deep core psychological level. This is indeed a tragedy not only for the Russians but also and especially for humanity at large. To prosper globally we need free and just societies all over the world.

Immigrating may be somewhat better for you if you go to a country with much greater opportunity, but it will be infinitely better for your children and grandchildren born in your new country. @@kabardinka1 They can make good incomes especially with significant education. That is why I said social order and not economic order. Immigrants will never have the common background of their native neighbors. If they are lucky they will live in communities with large immigrant populations and can make friends with other immigrants. My wife immigrated from Russia as a Computer Engineer in the 1990s. She has always complained that it is almost impossible to get inside American friendship clicks. She has only had one good American friend who she actually met in Russia when her friend’s father worked in the US Embassy in Moscow. She was the one who actually planted the seed in my wife’s head to consider immigration. Because of her friendship with the American woman she met in Moscow she was under the false impression that she would be able to form many close friendships with a lot of American women. That hasn’t been true. While she has tried over and over the lack of a common background always seems to be in the way. The American women aren’t bigots in any way they are just aloof. So all my wife’s friends are other immigrants some from Russia but many from all over the world other Europeans, South Americans, and Asians. She has an immigrant menagerie of friends. Great videos and so informative Mr. Orain. One Russian explains it so very well why Russia is as it is. Quote From Your Fine Video. "Why people leave Russia and don’t come here. It’s because of the political situation of the country. What situation? Everybody know what I’m talking about. No one would leave if all was well. We could live as well as in the U.S. and Western Europe, but unfortunately we are totally f***ked. How did this happen? It happened because of the lack of civil society. Politicians drive people apart even though people are actually quite nice. This is a tragedy for Russians and a tragedy for the country." My thoughts next. I can't say I'm glad about that as really human issues anywhere in the world affect the health of humanity and the earth. As I live more seasons on earth I realize more and more over time that first should come our Humanity for one another. Working to resolve issues without inflicting harm on others.

Russians perception of their own country's economy and standard of living is completely out of whack. USA's economy is 17x larger and GDP/capita 6x larger than that of Russia. Similar numbers from Western Europe, AUS and CA.

Every time I met a Russian in my life and even when I visited Moscow and St. Petersburg in 2006, the Russian people were very nice. The only problem I ever had was in St. Pete when an idiot tried to pick pocket me and I put him in a wrist lock. But petty crime is a thing that happens all over Europe in tourist areas.
