Great show! Purple is one of my favorite colors. I have been vegan for 9 years and my spouse is not. He saya he doesn't understand why I choose to eat this way but will support my choice. I am lucky. He cooks for himself any meat products or non vegan foods he eats. When it comes to shopping we either shop together or by our self. He doesn't expect me to shop for his non vegan items.

OMGoodness this message is exactly what I need. Am hosting all my adult children this summer (rare occasion, they live far away), & have been stressing what to cook for 4 days. Am WFPB. Not stressing anymore. Just putting out variety & letting them assemble own bowls every day. Every meal. Veg, starches, fruit.

You can do it! 🥰Rice bowls with people putting on their own toppings, potato bar, burrito bar. It's very doable! When we have a large family, gathering weekend, my husband will do the SAD breakfast one day, I make Chef AJ's waffles another day, and I always have an oatmeal bar for myself and others who would like to enjoy it. ❤️

Cutting loose and eating badly (pizza, burger, fries, soda, etc) makes me feel young mentally (flashes back to a young me who ate that way) and it makes me feel old and sick physically. Eating on plan (WFPB) makes me feel old mentally, but makes me feel young physically. It's a battle that goes on between mental/physical.

The cookie on the counter--I would tell that woman to watch Game Changers. Just one animal based meal affects your blood and circulation. If she eats that random cookie just because it is laying around, she is the one that has to endure the consequences emotionally and physically. You cannot let children make your health decisions. You should not let others be your excuse for not taking care of yourself. They are responsible for theirselves. Multi ethnic couple--Tell the other people "thank you" because they are offering it to be gracious hosts, and you can add "I am good, or I am vegan, or I am full." It is not being a good host to pressure people to eat things they do not want to eat.

At 40 minutes… that message is HUGE. I’ve been releasing people pleasing over the last year and showing up more authentically. It is about self esteem, worthiness and love. We can better attract the people in our lives meant to love us for who we are, in the way we want/need when we stop trying to be what we think we’re supposed to be, instead of being true to ourselves.

The lady who has to live with a selfish partner (lose him!) in a junk food environment: consider filling up on lots of delicious low calorie density food (to the left of Chef AJ's red line). I find that when I'm full, cravings gradually disappear. Ultimately, nobody forces you to eat ultra-processed food so you also have to accept some responsibility. Even if you lived alone there's temptation everywhere, you can order food in, etc. so you still have to develop strategies to stay on track.

My family is supportive of me but we still have snacks in the house that I don't eat. I have pretty good will power and I've noticed that my taste buds changed enough that if I do take a bite (which I do once a week to see how it tastes) I notice now it tastes too sweet or fatty to be appealing. The one thing I can't resist is chips so we keep those out of the home. Personally the thing that motivates me is knowing that my actions are influencing my kids. They see me say I am going to do something and now I'm following through and staying true to my word. I know this will impact them long term as kids learn from what they see their parents do. I am setting the example that they can make a huge life change and stick with it. It's empowering!

I’ve listened to this three times so far. Love it. So much info. ??? I find that people don’t want to invite because they eat different and most don’t even care to ask to make anything for you. If I had a nut allergy or disease they would probably bend over backwards to accommodate. But because it’s a choice I’m making, it’s not worthy of making an effort. Even when I bring my own food, dish to share, they say they are eating it just to be nice. They will say it’s too bland for them to eat that way. I find I’m trying to make sweeter dressings for them to like it. I’m tired of trying to please or explain why things are blander with their tastebuds hijacked by the high rich foods. I really feel their problem is they feel uncomfortable for they feel I’m judging them even by just being in the room with me. It’s hard and has affected family gatherings because everyone is about eating these high addictive foods. It’s like they are on crack, don’t poke the bear please. 😳

There has to be a motivation like how did you become a doctor you made a decision to do it and you had some kind of inspiration that made you do exactly what you had to do to become one that's where you have to be with the food and your body and if you're not there then you'll get what you get. And instead of everybody crying and feeling sorry and making excuses about why they can't do it while they're there are people out there that are losing hundreds of pounds like 3:05 you AJ yourself did it so it's it's a decision right that you have to make and if you have to lock your food up and have other people lock your food up and and all of that you're fooling yourself you haven't made a decision you haven't made a commitment it's just like the commitment to a marriage you can't have only the commitment to your marriage if you can lock your husband in a room so he doesn't cheat on you.

Or i get upset from something and last time it lead to eat off plan which got me in a two week binge. ( I hardly can come out now) . I hate the stress around this topic, especially bc my hb is very unhealthy and overweight himself…. His low energy impacts me too! Very difficult situation. but often I hurt myself by making the wrong choices… feel stuck 😢
