Im really starting to enjoy The Intercooler. It feels like the old school Evo magazine, just down to earth common sense and honest aproach to the cars. Certainly doesn't feel like a paid review. No bullshit, bashing the weight of the cars and properly mentioning that they handle well, but would be better if they were lighter. And I don't get the "safety excuse" because with modern alloys and polymers, you can make make light cars. Giulia is a light car, and even the SUV Stelvio QV is lighter than the new M3 (forget the C63). Porsche 911 and Alpine can make very light cars without the use of exotic materials and keeping safety features, so there is no need for "small" saloons to be 2000kg on the scale. Yes, they might mask the weight when they drive, but the brakes, tires and road wear don't Good job The Intercooler, actually cinsidering subscribing the app based on your latest shows.

I am fortunate enough to have a Alpina Touring 23 plate, the ride and comfort are exceptional.and it’s only slightly slower than M3 in the U.K. with a 70mph speed limit

It’s just mind blowing that AMG didn’t put the electric turbo on their inline 6 for a nice round 600hp and AWD. I actually like the simplified C43 with its e turbo 2.0 and no hybrid.

When it came to fast estates the AMG would be my default choice every time. Until they put that pathetic 4 cyl into it , I now have zero interest in them . I’d have the BMW in a heartbeat.

The C63 looks so damn good, they need to bring back the V8 and take those heavy batteries out, also make the V8 Naturally aspirated please also in the CLE63, so sad to see what's become of this car. The W204 C63 6.3L was the best sound ever produced on this planet, n the car is amazing to drive incredible easily a modern classic, and the upshifts and downshift sounds with the facelift transmission MCT is orgasmic. The 6.3 C63 is a very special car absolutely dripping with magic and charm. For me cars already peaked and now there dead, the sports car is only survived by the Miata n the 911 GT3, Lotus Emira.

BMW such a good car.. Four cylinders in the Mercedes for the price of a V8 NO WAY NO FREAKING WAY. Not worth the price and there's nothing to it with regards to power train, performance and then sound I'm not too convinced about the Mercedes, I don't hate cars, but to me this Merc just don't cut it.

I have an m3 saloon the suspension is not that bad at all, the one being tested I think it may have lowering springs or something changed, as it has aftermarket exhaust, ram air induction kit. The only down side to the standard car is the noise, you need to add an aftermarket exhaust. Once you’ve done that it’s actually perfect! Very fast for a saloon, you can take the family out in it also.

I’m turning laps with the M3 Touring at Track Days. This car is crazy fast. The suspension is good for the performance it delivers - it even has a high speed valve thing going on which allows you to ride inside corner curbs. If ride quality is something you complain about, this is the wrong car for you. Take the m340i. The M3 is a sports car with sports car performance. It’s not perfect, but it’s a very fast and capable estate sports car that will make some Porsches sweat on track.

Im so glad my E55 has a massive supercharged V8, sounds like a muscle car, and funnily enough is alot lighter than the C63 E wagon, has a much bigger boot and is more comfortable in the ride. This is the biggest Fail in Mercedes history ever!!!

I don’t want car to disguise weight, I want it to not have it in the first place. My Z3 Coupe with few interior panels made in carbon and lithium battery weights 1175kg. I run circles around these regardless if they have 400 or 4000 horsepowers.

Try carrying your whole family and luggage in your Z3. Doesn’t work too well. These are estate cars made for the family, that also can rip up a twisty road, or a track. Don’t get me wrong, the Z3 is a driver’s car compared to these 2 estates, but they are made for vastly different purposes.

It's really a shame Alfa never made a Giulia Touring. My Giulia QV rides much better than an M3, I think largely because its a bit lighter, but also because the suspension is more advanced despite being 8 years old. The front suspension for the Giulia is double wishbone whereas the M3 has a Macpherson strut. You can feel that difference in how stiff and unsettled the M3 feels over anything but perfect asphalt.

Such a shame the new C63, Andrew hit the nail on the head with the limitations being more apparent every day than it's assets. The boot space compromise and the weight are the biggest ones for me, especially on an estate car. The drivetrain while a technological marvel is just in the wrong vehicle, under any other badge than 63 it would be getting praised.

I've owned an audi rs5 , audi rs3, bmw m4 f82 and now a bmw m4 g82... m4 g82 (after u get a carbon grille and front lip) is the best car I've ever owned and the amount of compliments is insane! It just looks mean asf on the road!

Would it be possible to switch up the suspension on the M3 to be a bit more forgiving? Either way it’s the pick. The new C63 is an absolute disaster, and you can see with how many they’ve sold. I’m yet to see a single one, and I’m not alone. Plenty of M3s and RS4s on the road here in the UK at least.

To be fair to the C63, its 4 cylinder engine does have a basic fundamental sound that is not totally dissimilar to many flat plane crank V8s, as they too have an inherent 4 cylinder sound. Admittedly, the McLaren V8s sound better than the C63, but nevertheless, it is disappointing for a V8, with its flat plane crank. I had a G80 M3 and it did sound better than the current C63, no doubt, but it pales into comparison with my Jag V8 (a proper V8 sound ;) )

I think making a case for either of these cars is difficult when the previous generations of both exist. I dread to think what issues are going to arise when that AMG gets to 5 or 10 years old. I can't see a 2 litre engine pushing nearly 500hp being very reliable...

I can forgive the M3 touring for its weight, as ultimately it needed everything that modern safety standards expect, and modern consumers demand. So with that in mind BMW have done remarkably well. I suppose they could have made it lighter still with my carbon fibre, titanium and other exotic materials from obscure ends of the periodic table, but then it would have cost £300k and nobody would buy it. So I say bravo BMW. Mercedes unfortunately bet the wrong way, screwed the pooch and this new C63 will bomb as far as sales are concerned. Standby for the facelift to have a straight 6 or V6 engine.
