Interesting reference point Coach! I’ve never thought about it like this. I’ll definitely give it a go some time when I can get out to the practice green! Always love how these vids really get the juices flowing for practice!

I have to ask after seeing this video, I’ve suddenly started shanking my chips and short wedge shots? I suspect this a result of excessive shaft lean or handle dragging. I used to be fairly reasonable at chipping but I’ve lost all confidence as a result, could this dragging or excessive shaft lean cause this?

Noticed you have shoulder tilt, similar, but not as excessive as driver tilt. I thought for chipping shoulders should be level, or club could be grounded before the ball?

My friend is a PGA instructor and he would say that there isn't a single instruction on this video that is correct for chipping. When you chip you have 75% of your weight on your front foot. Your lead hand should be forward of the shaft throughout the entire swing. Your lead wrist should never release the club. You should finish through the ball confidently. This is a very confusing video

Coach, what is the difference between this technique (chip and run) and the chip and stop technique? Thanks.

Wow! I always thought that they can chip and I can’t is because they are pro’s and I am an idiot

That explains the thinned shots, I don’t lean but the right hand accelerates out of control when it is too far behind. Thank you

How come Phil Mickelson teaches hands forward throughout the whole swing for chipping?

Because his arc will be steeper I’m guessing.

Hi, how do I prevent flipping when chipping like this?

If you flip, the tee will go too far towards trail arm, check if you’re doing that first 👍

It is very simple and helps , considering most of my chips are after a miss or poor shot. I want a simple and reliable technique. Cheers

I've never been so frustrated with golf than I was with my round this weekend. I both want to quit the game and go play again soon.

Start analysing your strike I would suggest to start with if you aren’t sure what’s going wrong. If you know where you strike it on the face you can start to work things out. If you don’t know, you will start going round and round in circles

I thought for lower chips/run out, you want your hands slightly ahead, similar to striking irons right?

This is the best explanation of the technique I have ever seen. Everybody talks about using the bounce, but generally don't explain very clearly how to release the head. This drill is fantastic. Thank you Coach.
