i have a 3.8 stroked with a 4.2 chank and bored .040 over just chilling wrapped in a cover and oiled waiting for a home, kinda wanna m90 but idk yet, and this is coming from a 4.6 owner. my first 3 mustangs were 3.8's have a love for them, yes the 3.8 doesnt sounds like anaything to write home about but i do LOVE the engine, the 4.6 sounds narly but still nostalgia for the 3.8/3.9/4.2 family

I have a question how did you bend the fuel rails?

I’m glad it brought some inspiration to ya, if you could make a video of it or drop some of the things you did in the comments that’d be great there isn’t a whole lot out there on this swap, best of luck 👍

@@riccardojohnston9516 I put my hand on the sensor and gently pushed down slowly test fitting the intake checking fitment that way the fuel rail didn’t break or kink

the gt hood believe it or not is the same exact hood as the v6, the hood scoop on the GT is literally just a stick on scoop, you can pop it off and its the v6 hood underneath 💀 im gonna just buy the gt hood scoop and cut out the hood and then pop that scoop on there to cover it up

Only difference between the gt and v6 is the engine ,you can use mostly everything from a gt on a v6

I just bent the coolant tube a little and my windstar bolted right up took me 30 minutes no need to cut just bolt on and f.150 iac connection is turned to the right will help with the hood cost $100 And you need to make the connection to the throttle sensor longer as well that’s it

I just bought a 1990 t bird sc, so I have different plans for the channel, and mustang “build”, I still wanted to do the windstar intake swap on the na/ spilt port set up, there is a different guy on KZitem who has an m90 “strapped” to his split port new edge with the windstar, nothing on how he did it and it’s a couple years old but I know it’s possible, and the route I WANT to go, either way I have not forgotten about the swap just went to different projects while I was trying to think about what could make the swap work, your comment helps a lot as well as some of the other ones when I do post the part three it will be of the car running with the swap done, couple wrong parts and couple forgetten or new problems have arose when attempting to film the part 3 so I scrapped the vid and here we are, thanks for the feedback and the info on the swap it’s much appreciated 🤝👍✌️

LMAO. The F150 doesn't use a burp tube because the radiator cap sits higher than the rest of the cooling system. The reason for the burp tube is to get any excess air out of the system at the highest point, as the Mustang radiator sits lower than the rest of the cooling system. Air trapped in the system can become a blockage and stop the flow and result in overheating.

Thanks for the tip, I’ve got everything including the burp tube, part 3 is still in the making sorting out weird problems like such and wanting it to be done properly and looking nice, thanks for confirming that 👍

One more question 🙋♂️ did you use the mustang manifold bolts or the windstar bolts?🤯
@Kellen_Y.A.D.M

I used the Windstar bolts the mustang has taller rear bolts that won’t work with the Windstar intake

@@Kellen_Y.A.D.M also if i may, make sure....MAKE SURE your rubbers that sit with the windstar bolts are nice and fresh, and not hard as a rock. made the mistake of not getting better rubbers and it cause a very very very VERY finicky lean code that danced around between bank 1 and 2 and well it was the rubbers ...........couldn't clamp down good on the windstar intake and its gasket and cause a wicked lean code that danced between cylinders
