Sitting here watching this on phone with ear buds in quality i could only dream in1973. Thinking if i could show my 15 year old self this technology, i would have thought it was magic. Flat screen in hand, streaming connection on demand (not waiting to catch song on radio or tv) and brilliant stereo audio. I remember those days drooling over hifi while using my Philco radiogram. Wow so much has changed. This is such a beautiful song too and Lyndsey's voice is stunning.

This song, in some ways, is very reminiscent of Peter Skellern's You're A Lady. It even starts off very similarly and they kind of link. Maybe Peter's song could have been said to be the continuation of the story etc, even though I believe it came out first. Not to mention, they're both no longer alive now, wow. we've lost so many other great artists from back in those good old days. Like many here, I'm sure, I grew up listening to great hits like this. Many thanks.

You're so right. I love both songs and remember them as a young child. Even then something in their melancholy left a lasting impression on me. I'm taken right back when I hear them.

Beautiful from Lynsey de Paul 🌹 Expected Ed Stewart...and got Les Dawson😅 This was probably made in Leeds in its day. Yorkshire Television (ITV) made Les Dawson's early 1970s television.
