A shame that the rim came off, but I was excited to see that nothing was damaged in the process. The bowl looks great. I like the combination of the various woods together. Great job.

Good save, Bruce. I'm always surprised when Gary (Papa1947) turns a laminated ring after four hours. I'm an overnight guy for my glue. Really like the form and addition to take a nice little burl and turn it into a medium project. Take care buddy.

One little hiccup did not stop you from making a very pretty bowl Bruce. A great combo of woods and a very nice finish. Before it even came apart I noticed at 7:03 what looks like a separation of the joint. Or it was not flat at that point. I was thinking before you glued it on that I would have removed that raised center section and used a sanding board to get it flat and also to get the best glue joint you can. I cant say that is what happened but my mind went there as you glued it. But my brain is always talking to me and that is what it said LOL. Either way a very nice looking piece. Take care, Gary

Hi Gary, thanks for all the feedback, very appreciative! I’ve never had a problem like that either I wonder if that glue was bad, I’ve had that little bottle for quite sometime. The segmented piece I flattened with the disc sander, could of been off on the actual bowl though too.

Yes I was thinking possibly the bowl not being flat. You saved it though and that is all that matters.

Great video, Bruce. How long did you wait for the glue to dry? I have turned some pieces after 20 minutes and not had that happen. I guess I’ve been lucky. I’m guessing from your closing that you’re not a basketball player. 😂😂 Awesome bowl, buddy! 👍👍👍

Hi Gord, glue setup probably 30 minutes, I’ve never had glue let go like that. That glue has been around a while could be old? Lol, no I was never good at basketball! 😂😂😂

@@JordanWoodwerx I was ill at the end of last year and then life demanded i pay more attention to other things. I am trying to get back to more fun wood turnings but I have forgotten some things. I am finishing a plate video, made a right mess of it, total amateur : ) I discovered that the plate didn't fit in my cole jaws...should have measured... so I was up a creek. Anyway made it work by jamming it.

I’m starting to feel like a broken record, but that looks great Bruce! Nice save, too. Where did you get that cone for your tail stock?
@JordanWoodwerx

Thanks Mike , really appreciate that! 👍🏻👍🏻 I picked up the cone center at robusttools.com they had a special last Christmas, it had that large cone and a smaller one, they come in real handy! The larger cone can be reversed as well
