Matt. Thanks for the video. A lot of people in worship could really use more pedal vids like this. Also, as far as Dynamics go, electric guitar takes the cake, besides the human voice. Just not always in this style of music. But between all pick Dynamics and vibrato, mixed with endless choices in amps and effects, Dynamics are almost endless, unless, you are running a compressor in the beginning of your chain. Though I completely understand, for worship music, especially those lightly gritty delay passages, that compressor can be a blessing for the sound guy, and guarantees he's comfortable with the mix and doesn't turn you down. I have an xotic compressor, and I'd never taken it out of Low, until playing at church, and for that reason. Good choice on the Timmy all the time, and the screamer for the mid push, that's what those 2 pedals do best, and with small amounts like this, so many people miss out on how far a little can take you. God bless.

Last year, your pedalboard video with the Cathedral Reverb was the first pedal video I had ever watched. I had 1 pedal(that I never used) and actually hadn't really played my guitar the last few years. Now I have a pedalboard full of pedals, pedals that I have already kicked off the board or that I switch out, looking at getting a switcher, I play pretty much every day, and have chronic GAS. I'm gonna tell my wife it's your fault.

That's fair. Haha! I played guitar for like seventeen years before I got into any of this. I had a Tube Screamer and a Boss delay. But it turns out pedals are really interesting and fun... oops.

I have to compliment you on how your tone has improved. We all know that guitar tone is subjective but the atomic amp, kemper and even the joyo American sound are replacing tube amps on Sundays.
@LeFeversAudio

Thanks! I'm definitely seeing the same shift - at this point most of the church players I know are using Helix, and the second largest group is Kemper / Atomic. Amps are a small but vocal minority in the circles I run in.

Hey I’m curious about the second Rat town (after you dialed it down). What was everything being used because I really enjoyed that tone and would love to try and replicate it!!
@LeFeversAudio

I think it's mostly just the Rat, at those more moderate settings. I also leave my compressor on all the time so I'm guessing it was on as well, but nothing else. Thanks!

Hey man thanks for your demo. How do you find the feel of the dunlop mini volume? And where is it in your signal chain?
@LeFeversAudio
4 жыл бұрын
I've got it after drives, before delays and reverbs. No incredibly specific reason, that's kind of just where it fits (I need it to be on the bottom row to reach it). It's a great pedal, I think the smaller size took me maybe three or four gigs to get used to where to place my foot, and now I never think about it. It takes up so much less room than the giant one I used to have.

Can you tell us who makes the giant knobs you use on your pedals so you can use your foot to dial it in? Also thanks for the last video -it really helped me figure out how to solve the power needs and saved me money in the long run. cheers

Is the atomic amplifier better than iridium? Does it nail Vox AC30 tone?
@LeFeversAudio
3 жыл бұрын
It does nail the AC30 - two of the best sounding guitar albums I've ever recorded were with the Amplifire using the Top Boost model. I'm using the Iridium now instead, but it's not really because either is better or worse, the Iridium is just smaller and fits on my board nicely, haha.

If you were only allowed to have two types of pedals on your board for worship, what would they be?
@LeFeversAudio
5 жыл бұрын
Delay for sure - for the second one, either reverb or overdrive. I guess delay and reverb, since in a pinch I could use amp gain for the overdrive and back off the guitar's volume knob for clean parts. That's how I have my Amplifire's "fly rig" preset set up if I ever need to travel light.

@LeFeversAudio

My presets are on the free Source Audio Neuro Community, if you search my name - I only made three of them but they're the three I use for just about everything, hah. You'll need either the SA desktop editor or the app to download presets, it's been a few years since I messed with either one but I remember them being fairly straightforward to use. neuro.sourceaudio.net/?search=matt%20lefevers That "Creation 8ths" preset is my favorite dotted eighth thing. ("Creation" is the name of the song I use as a KZitem intro and I just uploaded the preset from when I recorded it.)

@@RensoJimenezz Ahhhh you mean this thing? www.analogendeavors.com/product/aux2-controller It's just a preset switcher, you have to add or create the presets yourself and save them on the Nemesis, but once you've done that, this switcher is very convenient.
