Great detailed video! it's a pity that you really can't open the top cover of the receiver for the tape and you can't remove the butt and get the spring with the shutter! let the price be higher, but it's better with these advantages! in principle, the mp 40 replica has at least somehow implemented this and you can get a shutter and a shock mechanism there

Thanks for the comment! I'm glad you enjoyed the video! It is a shame that the model doesn't come with a working cover straight out of the box but it's nice that you can modify it fairly easily. Unfortunately the reality of it is that Denix is based in Spain and they have to be able to sell the model on a world market which means that they have to adhere to whatever the strictest laws are in whatever country that may be to allow them to ship it and sell it there. Regardless of all of that it is still a great addition to the community to make a respectable MG model affordable to the masses. I hope to see you in the comments in the future!

Can you place a dummy belt in it after you take the top part off.
@warhistorygeek6013
2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment John! From what I can tell the tray does allow for you place a dummy belt in it after you have fully removed the top part. You just won't be able to pull it through any further than where you've set it in the tray so I've seen the best way to display it is to leave the first part of the belt empty on the other side as if it had been fired the rest intact for a more interesting display.

If you buy the extra 'spent' belts 'they come in 50 round sections' can you load with 8mm Mauser LIVE ammo? It would be Alittle pricey as 20 rounds of standard FMJ 8mm Mauser is $32 shipped. So for 150 rounds you would be looking at around $240 BUT THATBWOUKD LOOK REALLY COOL. IF you can do it. Is it possible??
@warhistorygeek6013
6 ай бұрын
@@kawythowy867 To answer your question, yes you can use live rounds as well! Anything standard sized 8mm round will work in a display with this replica! However, I generally do not recommend using live rounds in displays for safety reasons. But to each his own!

Could I buy a different mg34 top cover and put it on the denix mg?
@warhistorygeek6013
6 ай бұрын
Thanks for the comment WW2Enthusiasts! In theory I believe you likely could put an original MG34 top cover on the denix model. However, I have yet to see that and I also wouldn't recommend it personally because I think you may have to do significant modifications to an original part to make it work. If you're looking to make the top cover open and close, just replace the catch at the end of the cover with an original spring loaded part. I have seen this done before and if done correctly it is very effective at making the top cover functional.

Thanks for the comment gruppenfuhrer! The MG34 is seriously a spectacular model both for display and reenacting. Not to mention of course it now made German light machine guns actually accessible to the majority of the hobby now! As for the MG42, I'm sure they will make it sometime down the line but at least according to the customer vote they held to determine they would produce the MG34, the FG-42 was the second highest result with the BAR after that so my guess would be one of those two will likely be next within the next couple years.

Thanks for the comment Bambi! As an American I will of course agree that it is very unfortunate how restrictive most countries are in the world in regards to firearms and firearm replicas. However it is worth noting that many blank only machine guns, particularly that of MG's, use many if not mostly authentic machine gun parts that can make sense as to why those countries then require permits or ban them from ownership.
