Always had a lot of respect for Yamaha for building this bike. Seemed like at the time Suzuki and Kawasaki dominated the 750 scene with their GSXR and ZX7. Honda had the best 600 with its Hurricane, and probably sold a lot of those so that was a financial success. Yamaha though, they were set on the 1000 superbike title. The Hurricane 1000 was too civil and a sport tourer. Kawasaki seemed to be also be competing for the fastest bike title with its ZX11 which was too heavy to be a superbike so it was a sport tourer also. Yamaha made the king of the road with the FZR 1000. This was the bike of choice for those that raced mountainous roads. I actually have a mint CBR 900RR that is hailed as the king. Well, that sort of depends on the road. Maybe it can outdo a FZR 1000 on a tighter road, but the 1000 would take it on a not so tight road with longer straights. To me, this defined what an elite superbike should look like. How Yamaha ditched the dual headlights in later years is beyond me, but then it put the dual headlights back on the later FZR 1000s. The CBR 900RR was successful because they were aiming for this bike's awesomeness.

And the best looking headlights and fairings too. 89 was their best year, in my opinion.

SAXONWARLORD1000AD From 1987 to 1988 it was Genesis but than, after the new engine with the Exup valve and new body it became the Exup. In this video there is the first edition of this bike :)

wrong, there is no fzr 1000 called EXUP..exup is a valve..nothing more..all fzr 1000 are genesis because of the engine concept with 20 valves.

20 valve genesis - exup is just a exhaust valve to improve mid range
