This video is about the results of my last Kodak Verichrome film, which expired 50 years ago, in the overview from my Yashica 44. You already know the development method, -2 stops at the time of shooting and +3 stops when developing the film. However, to minimize the effects of the leaked film ink, I did a 10-minute pre-wash with water at the same temperature as when developing it, which worked very well.
Although the film seems more degraded, the ink mark on the film is barely visible. So it's easier to see the characteristics of the Kodak Verichrome Pan. Its excellent gradation and wide exposure latitude make it a good choice for general-purpose applications. This film has characteristics similar to those of KODAK PLUS-X Pan Professional Film, but does not have retouching surfaces. The film is supposed to have fine grain, but since I pulled 3 stops during development, the grain became very evident.
This film has most likely been poorly stored over the decades. So you never know what the results will be before you develop it. Still, challenges are always interesting.
Watch parts 1 and 2 of this video where I talk about the technical aspects of both the camera and the film. Subscribe to the channel to see more experiments like this.
