@@Vivi_9 It's the journey, not the destination. This video seems to clamber to the current popularity of evolutionary psychology and I find those claims embarrassing to listen to. I fully concede that if you have existential problems, you won't worry about filing taxes or who said what on your Instagram post but no matter how far you come in your mental maturity path, there will always be hick-ups and if they are the only negative sides you face, it's a whole lot better than starvation but you will still want to not have them there to remind you that someone thinks less of you. I do agree with you Vivi that friends to share this journey with, this experience, is very much a part of happiness.

IMO a huge component of why people are generally struggling with mental health is because survival is so unimportant. Modern society has made it pretty challenging to stay alive and relatively healthy, so we aren’t going out needing to do hard work to survive 24/7. We can, for the most part, sit back and take very little action and have no conviction and, yeah life is gonna suck but we’re going to be alive. We don’t physically need a higher purpose, only spiritually. 3,000 years ago, and even 75 years ago, if you didn’t get your butt up every morning and work your ass off you died or your family suffered. Now that part is much less of a real factor. No idea how to solve that, but I wanted to share my opinion😊

I literally just said on my channel JUST LIVE PERIOD, just do what you enjoy, do the work you must do and stop chasing everything, period. The moment you chase anything even in denial that you are, you are become unhappy and lower your vibration and you block the flow of wisdom and creativity. The only reasons why people feel like they are missing out on live is cause they are watching other people and on the internet in other peoples business and in denial.

As a Christian, I’ve grown up with this idea of a separation of joy and happiness. We read in the Bible that God promised joy, but not happiness. The differ nice is joy is a constant state, a life where, yeah stuff happens, you’ll be sad or depressed on occasion and loving life the next. But at the end of the day when the highest swells of emotion settle, you have a comfort and peace of mind. To me, that is what I think most people should consider “being happy”. Most people have lost sight of what normal life is: monotonous and slow. We often think a dopamine hit is the same as happiness when it’s not. And I’m not trying to preach. I think a lot of people can and have reached this distinction without faith in Christ, it’s just where I got it from

Myself and many others feel more at peace in nature, some with close friends/loved ones, and so on. Ultimately, yes, it stems from Jesus because he is the author of all, but many Christians sit there and don’t try to take their mental health seriously because they feel that having to try means you aren’t trusting in Jesus fully. And that’s just not how it works

The last part about no one coming to save you. Really hit when I realized and looked at it through the lens of having a parent child relationship with yourself. When we were lucky enough to have our parents take care of our whole world We always knew there was going to be someone who was going to save us, but there came a time where we had to grow up and be that person for ourselves. The problem is, is that Western society doesn't teach you how to be that person for yourself. because we view subconscious thoughts as intrinsically our own. The way that I separate This out is that we have the conscious mind of the parent and the subconscious will of a child. Conscious mind the parent determines our environment. and our environment determines a subconscious behavior - The child If we look at it this way, then what it means to take care of ourselves is to literally take care of the child within us, to ask them what they truly want to do without any expectation from the outside world. That is how I found my own intrinsic core values

Our goal should not be the pursuit of happiness, but attaining inner peace. The universe in which we live is uncertain, and can be difficult to abide. Many of us are filled with an overwhelming anxiety, despite the safety afforded to ourselves that comes from living in heavily populated modern societies. The need to conform is balanced by an awareness of our mortality, but it also stems from the fear of knowing that we as mortal humans are capable of great cruelty and violence. We wage all kinds of warfare against each other, and seek to enslave and subdue those whom we conquer, assuming we don't kill them outright. This, despite an abundance of wealth and resources that can easily be shared throughout the world, but isn't. There will always be individuals consumed by their own greed, apathy, and hatred. Achieving inner peace is about limiting ourselves, and learning to be grateful. Love thy self, and try to offer the same to others; this, despite how terrible and insensitive they may seem. They are but different versions of ourselves, trapped in bodies made of flesh and bone. Happiness comes from within, and reflects our ability to be kind and humble. We should be true to ourselves, but only if those core values are non-destructive, and we are not jealous of others. This does not mean that we need to be silent when the actions and behaviour of our fellow humans deny us the right to life, liberty, and freedom. It doesn't mean that we are inherently entitled to think and do as we please, or that it's okay for someone to have hundreds of billions of dollars while others suffer and starve. As the custodians of our planet, we are obligated to act with integrity and virtue, and to show respect for all life that exists here on Earth. Our collective suffering is the end result of having to co-exist with individuals who deem themselves "superior". There is no peace or harmony afforded by having to share the same living space with anyone who let's their ambitions run wild, and has an insatiable appetite to own and control everything. Thanks Cole, for your insightful content and commentary.

I have no god or afterlife holding me back in life. But with that in mind, I never realized just how mundane it is. We’re raised to think we can become the next President or famous actor. But I don’t think I want that anymore. The problem is people either want a legacy or they want something after this life. Humans are SO terrified they’ll be forgotten or that this is all meaningless. I’m still coming to grips with it but I think that if I can at least make other people happy and feel fulfilled then I do not need a thousand year legacy or Heaven. Life sucks. It can end instantly or slowly. But it really is what you do with it. If you treat others like shit then you’ll be remembered as such. It’s just a zeitgeist of religious meaning and modern individualist culture converging that makes us all feel like we’re meant for something more. It’s okay to be average. It’s okay to never own a Lamborghini or be famous like your favorite singer. Enjoy being an NPC lol. Just don’t let corporate bullshit and influencers dictate your right to live in the 21st Century.

I've been completely "poor" several times in my life, and it's made me truly more rich every time. Knowledge and the God over fiat currency. Most people don't have anything other than temporary materials and worthless fiat currency, government owned cars and houses, and empty souls and unhealthy bodies. I'm rich beyond measure. I sleep on a mat on the concrete every day. What do I know?

It's not about being happy all the time. Happiness is just an emotion, and emotions are temporary. It's about not living in a constant state of fear and misery. It's about being able to live in joy and contentment without any sense of dread in your life. Joy is eternal, and it can only be found in Christ.

Good video, but one of my core values is love, which I’ve only felt once and it ended really badly. I’m back in the game now, except that women are disgusted by me and I don’t know why.

My opinion of Better Help; it would be nice if they didn't start charging people until they actually get matched with a therapist who fits them. I don't really feel like wasting money on a therapist who can't help me.

I watched a shocking video on better help. The “therapist” was awful, rude and had no idea what she was doing.

The ideas you laid out are great and they apply to all people, whether you believe in God or not. I don't think it is a last resort type of thing; its something everyone could apply.
