I'll be honest, Isaac and Claire might just be my favorite Sci-Fi couple. Even with everything that has happened (Isaac's break-up attempt, the Kaylon Invasion of Earth and Isaac's attempted suicide) they've powered through it and stayed one of the most amazingly written couples in TV. At least in my opinion

This scene is how I came up with a personal fan theory about the Kaylon. They do in fact have feelings but it doesn’t show up the way humans do. It’s within their subroutines. The algorithm adapts to what biological lifeforms do around them. That’s why all the other Kaylon despised biological life due to their experience with their builders but Isaac didn’t because his subroutine didn’t experience that.

I have the same theory. They lack the physiological reactions to emotions that we have, but they still have them.

The Kaylon are the perfect contrast to Star Trek Androids like Data. In Star Trek, Data and other Starfleet androids journey is about finding emotions; and questioning the meaning of their existence given they have none or no true ones. The Kaylon are the opposite; they are beings that insist they are absolutely emotionless machines; when they are fact easily some of the most emotional beings in the series. So their conflict is fundamentally dealing with a people who insist they are always logical when they are very obviously driven by emotions first and logic second. They tell different stories rather than being mirrors of each other; and I really appreciate that choice; instead of a copy of Data, we got a unique take on the idea of an AI race who are just as if not more emotional than their organic counterparts, and arguably the central conflict is the Kaylon's difficulty with recognizing the emotions that motivate their actions.

From a literary standpoint similar to Mr. Spock from Star Trek as the Vulcans pretend to be emotionless but in fact are as capable of emotions as humans they just suppress them.

One of the best scenes in the series. Both huge character developments for Isaac and Ed. I loved how especially Ed is able to give the best advice since he can _relate_ to someone who gets under skin. I miss the style of the earlier seasons

You could say Isaac has become accustomed to her face.

This is such a shameless ripoff. Star Trek did this exact scene with Data.
