Everybody has a lot to learn. Just because someone is young that does not mean they can not understand how to be saved. Jesus clearly said. Matthew 18:3-6 KJV "And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven. Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me. But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea" Even a child can believe and have faith alone to be saved. Matthew 11:25 KJV "At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes." In no way or sense should a Christian say to another Christian, that they are young and have a lot to learn unlike yourselves.

This was interesting and here are some of my thoughts: 1. Jon MaCray is friends with Allen Parr and believes he is a brother in Christ, but I don't recall him defending him when Don said he wasn't saved. If anything, Corey defended Allen more than anyone. 2. Don came off very strongly and Jon surprised me when he didn't back up a lot of Corey's beliefs and I think that threw Corey off. 3. I wasn't a fan of Don's attitude (attack me if you want, but I don't have to), but I do believe he has some really good questions and I liked quite a bit of what he said. 4. Jon always seems like a great mediator when it comes to discussions and I appreciate his input. 5. This was a wonderful discussion by 3 different men who I believe are all saved, but see things differently.

As a new Christian myself (in terms of actively seeking God) Dons journey has been encouraging, however, I see danger in how he conducts himself at times and the position he is putting himself and other possible new converts who look up to him in. The way he will outright just call someone a heretic,(sometimes people who I believe are clearly saved) is wrong and displays a level of arrogance on his part, which I feel may lead others astray. Also he himself has admitted that even as recent as a year ago he had the wrong doctrine and beliefs, so he is his own example of someone who has got it wrong, and isn’t the same now. So who’s to say that in another years time he may not look on the things he is saying now and the way has conducted himself at this time with regret and repentance. He should afford others the same grace he has allowed for himself and would do well to remind himself that his journey has not been without error, especially when he is casting judgements on others. I believe God will deal with him though, for God disciplines those he loves and who has a heart to serve him in truth.

He uses the grace language then perverts the true gospel by getting ppls eyeS off Christ and on to themselves! He like 99% will bring in works thru the back door.. Corey does the same thing! .it usually goes something like this...yes we are saved by grace thru faith..BUT!!.... If your really saved you ll have the works! Notice they never quantify, qualify these works it's some mysterious amount of works nobody knws! So now your looking to yourself and your behavior for assurance, to see if your saved! Christ is no longer your focus your belief in the gospel and God's word is no longer the focus of your assurance cause apparently Christ wasn't sufficient in saving you! Now they have put you in a position of doubt and fear which will most certainly stunt your growth because your assurance is now gone ,. Your eyes are completely off Christ and what he did and they are getting you to work for what God has freely secured for you! Its Demonic and evil as hell

Human beings have always wanted and tried to save themselves from their own sins and earn their own eternal salvation. It is part of our sinful nature to do so. But there is no amount of human good works that could ever satisfy the demands of perfect holiness before YHWH because we “all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). But Jesus, The Christ, was SINLESS and He satisfied all the demands of perfect righteousness. So He shed His own blood and died for our sins in order to redeem us. Then He rose from the dead and victoriously offered that glorious gift of eternal life to anyone and everyone who believes in Him and His promise to give us this gift. Hallelujah, What a Savior!! AND NOW we are FREE in Christ - at LIBERTY to LOVE OTHERS! Shalom (PTK)

@@erikareott6610 I’ve been reading these comments over the disputes between what Allen Parr was saying vs Young Don. I genuinely do think people are misunderstanding what Allen is saying. Salvation is always by faith alone in Christ alone. I think where Don and many others are tripping up is they’re so against the heresy of legalism, rightfully so I think it should always be refuted. But there are two heresies that false religion is built upon and while one is legalism on the opposite end the other is antinomianism. Which is in other words is a license to sin. The Bible makes it clear that those found in Christ are those who will practice righteousness because they love God, it does not justify them but in their new heart they desire to please God through obedience. While I am against works-based salvation clearly emphasized in Galatians 1 I also understand the point of free-grace as in a license to sin which I think for those passages people should consider Romans 6 and 1 John 3.

You call out to one asking,"Don't you hear the truck coming??" Yeah he says. You call out to the other one and say, "There's a truck coming!" That friend dismisses you and says there's no such thing as a truck. The one friend (who only has head belief that the truck is coming) ends up just as dead as the friend who didn't believe the truck is coming. Corey, I can tell you are really being genuine and I appreciate that about you. My problem is you can know you are saved by trusting in what Christ did on the cross, nothing else. Scripture tells us if you add anything to your faith it cancels it out. If a person adds work to their faith and say it's part of what is saving them, they're not trusting Christ alone and completely cancels out grace. That's how we can know if a person is saved. If they are trusting in themselves or looking to themselves they do not trust Christ alone. Judas was a disciples and he dropped right into hell because he did not believe. The book of Corinthians and the verse you're talking about is because he had to defend his apotleship and he wanted them to examine themselves because they are Paul's work. That's why he says "since you seek proof of Christ speaking through me". God bless you Corey, Jon and Don. Jesus loves you and God loves you so much that came in the flesh and died for all of your sins and rose again to justify you by trusting in him. Praise the Lord for his grace and mercy and the gift of eternal life.

What do you think you are correcting? Corey and Allen don’t add anything to faith as requirements for salvation. What Allen said was that the new birth and the indwelling Spirit will change you. If there’s no change, you may be a false convert. For example, you may not have really understood the gospel, may have made an emotional decision, or may have made an intellectual decision that your heart wasn’t into. The heresy is making works a requirement for salvation. Saying that salvation should produce evidence of itself is 100% biblical. When you really believe something, you act accordingly. The epistles of James and John teach that explicitly. In case you’re interested in church history, the idea that you could be saved and not have evidence of it in your life is an ancient heresy called Antinomianism. A lot of Christians today don’t teach Antinomianism, but they practice it.

@ricksonora6656
Жыл бұрын
@@Rachel-rj6tu There are several issues in your reply. Jesus preached to people who believed their works justified them. Since they thought they could be good enough, Jesus had to show them that God’s standard is perfection. Not until they recognized their condemnation could they receive the gift of God by faith. It’s in that context that Jesus said we must hate our family - in comparison to how great our love of God must be. Examples today include Muslims who convert to faith in Christ despite pressure or even violence from their families. The figure of speech is called hyperbole: exaggeration to make a point. So, when you say you haven’t hated your brother or sister, I say GOOD! That’s not what Jesus meant. Next, “works” includes growing in the fruits of the Spirit. Growth takes time. You should ask people who know you whether they have seen growth over years or decades, not a stranger (me) who’s never met you. Man judges according to the outward appearance, but God judges the heart. I can’t see your heart, and I didn’t hear the gospel as it was being presented to you. Even those who have known you cannot judge your heart. The best we can do is estimate probabilities. To answer your question, based on your original comment, my estimate is “probably.” And I don’t believe your faith has never motivated you to do good.

@@Rachel-rj6tu I answered your question, the way you asked it. You may be looking for a yes/no answer that’s inappropriate. Perhaps you set up a simplistic hypothetical and we’re unclear. In that case, you’ve missed the fact that God holds us accountable for the light we have. We have more light available than they had at Pentecost or what the Romans had when Paul wrote His epistle to them. We’ve had two millennia to piece together scriptures about, for example, the deity of Christ and the heresy of sacramentalism (e.g., baptismal regeneration). Perhaps your making a formula out of Romans 10:9-10. But there’s a lot implied by those verses, and those verses have various levels of context that clarify and add to them. For example, chapters 3-7 make it clear that salvation is by faith apart from works, and Galatians clarifies that “works” includes sacramentalism (e.g., baptismal regeneration). In addition, I don’t know what kind of believer you are. Jesus described three types of false believer in the Parable of the Sower. False believers can fool themselves and others. As a result, the information you gave was insufficient. Giving you the type of answer you apparently seek would be presumptuous.

Ok so 18 months before my father's death I was shown me preaching the gospel at his funeral telling the people attending the funeral my Father went to be with Jesus and was born again. My Father hated God throughout his life. My Father was diagnosed with Cancer 2 months after my dream. 3 months before his death I read him Psalm 23 and explained why he needed a savior for his sin. My Father was baptized in his bed and spoke in tongues. My father's liver was shutting down and his memory started going. My Dad was in pain and cursing all the time. I prayed for his healing all the time. Three times I was told I have told you Daniel. The night of his death I was praying in the spirit his literal spirit came into my room and Dad said I'm going home. Ten minutes later I get a call telling me Dad died. Then I had the pleasure of preaching the gospel at dads funeral just as I saw. So my Dad was well enough to read his Bible or pray in tongues or do any good works.. I know he is saved not by his works but by God's grace.

This is a good discussion! Thank you Corey. Satan has tripped up many church goers (professing Christians) into judging fruit and doing political commentary, ect. Instead of reading their Bibles diligently and judging their own walks. We simply aren't qualified to judge in most cases- especially among fellow Believers. We all tend to make snap judgements and rashly speak out our opinions, hurting others far more than helping them. And it's a bad example. Correction and exhortation are always needed but judging someone's salvation status not so.

There is a difference between Salvation and the work of Ministry . Salvation is 100 percent the work of God. It is the gift of God received by those who believe the gospel of Christ ( The Message of Jesus’ death, burial and resurrection). Works comes into play after we are saved we are made into disciples via training , being equipped for the work of ministry. Go into all the world and preach the gospel and make disciples. This is labour/ works for which we will be rewarded for by Christ. There is no reward for salvation because it is the gift of God lest any man should boast. Gifts are received you don’t work for a gift. You work for a reward . Ministry is work!

That young man has alot to learn. There is a difference of sinning and practicing sin. Grace is there just in case we stumble and sin. But practicing sin is you are sinning everyday of your life purposely. The young man does not understand that Greek version of the Bible is the true version. The King James version, ESV, NIV, and etc are English translated meaning that they had to change Greek to modern English so we can understand it. Some words were changed because the meaning of the words changed. It doesn't take away the meaning of God's word though. They made sure they came up with the closest meaning that they could come up with. Now, if you get into other bibles such as Latter Day Saints and Jehovah Witness, that's a different story.

James 4:17) “If anyone, then, knows the good they ought to do and doesn’t do it, it is sin for them.” Brother, every second on Earth we spend not actively preaching the gospel is sin for us-as we know we ought to, yet we do not. How many sins does it take to make it a practice? Once? Twice? Every time we pass someone in public and do not share the gospel with them, we are practicing sin. Only belief in Jesus’s finished work on the cross and resurrection, and our belief in the ransom of perfect blood he shed for us has any role in our salvation. When you practice something, you are attempting to master that craft. To become better at it, and know the ins and out and act in it flawlessly. This is what it means to practice sin-when you continue and indulge and finds way to better enjoy and make it comfortable. This is what it means to practice sin. When you sin out habit and/or impulse or false thought, and desire to flee from the temptation but you choose to sin, you aren't practicing sin, to master it and even teach it to others. When you practice something, you simply try to master whatever it is you're engaging in. Practice makes perfect. And this time of engagement in sin does not come from a man of God.

Matthew 23:16 KJV "Woe unto you, ye blind guides, which say, Whosoever shall swear by the temple, it is nothing; but whosoever shall swear by the gold of the temple, he is a debtor!" It does not matter if you willingly sin or if you sin by accident. SIN IS SIN. There is no way you can not sin after you believe in Jesus Christ. Cory, I think on the Topic of Righteousness in the believers life, there are 3 issues being discussed and both sides are not understanding each other. When some mention living righteous, some take it as the person is talking about work based Salvation. When others mention Faith alone, some take it as having belief with no fruits of righteousness. Here are the three issues: 1. Does the Bible say that it is mandatory for a believers, after being Saved, to seek to live a Righteous life? 2. A believer seeking to live a righteous life, is this related to their Salvation? 3. How are we judge each other actions?
@FromWarWithLove
Жыл бұрын
1. & 2. You have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness. Romans 6:18 BSB 3. I wrote you in my letter not to associate with sexually immoral people. I was not including the sexually immoral of this world, or the greedy and swindlers, or idolaters. In that case you would have to leave this world. But now I am writing you not to associate with anyone who claims to be a brother but is sexually immoral or greedy, an idolater or a verbal abuser, a drunkard or a swindler. With such a man do not even eat. What business of mine is it to judge those outside the church? Are you not to judge those inside? God will judge those outside. “Expel the wicked man from among you.” 1 Corinthians 5:9-13 BSB Brothers, if someone is caught in a trespass, you who are spiritual should restore him with a spirit of gentleness. But watch yourself, or you also may be tempted. Carry one another’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. If anyone thinks he is something when he is nothing, he deceives himself. Each one should test his own work. Then he will have reason to boast in himself alone, and not in someone else. For each one should carry his own load. Nevertheless, the one who receives instruction in the word must share in all good things with his instructor. Do not be deceived: God is not to be mocked. Whatever a man sows, he will reap in return. The one who sows to please his flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; but the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. Let us not grow weary in well-doing, for in due time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to the family of faith. Galatians 6:1-10 BSB

@@FromWarWithLove Agree. 1 Crointhians 5:9-13, that is the degree to which we are called to judge. We are not called to judge someone Salvation or End - Hell or Heaven. That is for God to decide. Galatian 6:1-10, we may stop being friends with a brother or sister who started doing bad things and has become temptation to us or harm to others, but we don't judge their Salvation or End, God knows, they may still be Christian, Saved, and God knows their heart desires and their struggle to overcome their weaknesses, in such a case, we pray and help that brothers and sister in what way can. Those two verses you quoted, need to brought into the discussion. This topic of Christian behavior needs to have more Clarity, its causing doubts and confusion some people minds.

@@seyway189 Paul in 1 Corinthians is already questioning the salvation of the self-identified believer. He doesn’t say “don’t associate with any brother who is sexually immoral . . .”, he says “don’t associate with any person who *proclaims* to be a brother who is also sexually immoral”. You can’t define what the context is based upon your own bias. It says what it says. Why is Paul questioning the salvation of this person? Because the person is committing non-Christlike acts. That person is showing bad fruit. Now, does it completely confirm whether or not this person is unsaved? No. Yet, who is better to be considered saved? A self-proclaimed Christian who isn’t sexually immoral, a drunk, a swindler, etc. or a self-proclaimed Christian who is? And we are called to judge if a person is unsaved because Paul demonstrates this with anathematizing people who preach a false gospel of works. Now, we obviously have grace with people and I agree that God is the person who ultimately knows who is truly saved or not. Yet, the Scriptures call us to good works once saved. Fruit shows if a person is in Christ. For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance as our way of life. Ephesians 2:10 BSB
