In Africa and I am sure Australia fuel range are very important for traveling in more remote areas. Reducing the tank size are a big concern + larger capacity engine will result in smaller distance between fill ups than previous model. This could be a deal breaker if the new GSA will follow this trend. Please don't ruin the GSA with weight saving short cuts by making fuel tanks smaller. Lastly 190mm suspension travel on a adventure bike? ( Front travel as per your website on the GS model ) That's asphalt touring territory in Africa....

I just bought a 2023 R1250 GS Trophy model, US variation. The ability of that telelever front end to feel absolutely intuitive and the bike turning without you even thinking about it is something that must truly be experienced in the twisties. The Santa Monica Mountains in California has the kind of roads that display this tendency.

I have a 2019 R1250GS with 6,000 mile on it. The quick shifter is nowhere near as smooth as the one that was fitted to my 2016 R1200R, that was super slick whilst the 1250 is quite clunky. The 1250 works well as wider opening throttle and higher speeds, but for normal road use I’d call it clunky. My dealer’s response was that the GS was designed to be ridden in enduro boots and the gear system is designed to be able to take the hard unsympathetic usage of heavy boots. It seems plausible but I’m expecting a healthy negative response. Other than that the 1250 is a great bike, if you have one you certainly don’t need the 1300…..

I must admit, I was nervous about this new model and how it could possibly beat the 1250, especially since it’s your 100 year anniversary and your top selling motorbike, but you definitely did not disappoint. 👍 That Trophy edition is my favourite, please bring out just as stunning color on the Adventure. I did not like the front headlight at first, but it’s growing on me, reminds me of the daylight running lights on the new Porche 911.

Translation into Spanish: Saludos desde Argentina!

I like the look of these bikes. I really like the ride height adjustment, ACC, etc, but I do worry about the level of electronic technology being added to these motorbikes. Don't get me wrong, there is a place for this stuff such as in the road bikes and cars but, correct me if I am wrong, GS stands for off road, Enduro, or something like that. My worry is that should I find myself way out in the hills with no phone coverage and I have a fall and break something such as a mirror with it's electronic warning systems, handguard with its direction indicators, or one of the many other electronic devices. Will this effect the main electronic system/computer and shut the whole bike down? It's getting to the stage where a minor thing like breaking a relatively cheap mirror could result in a very expensive recovery mission, and nothing short of a flat tyre can be fixed outside of a full BMW Service Centre. Another problem that I see is that a lot of Features/Options are available in packages. Remove 1 small feature that I don't like and I can't have any of the other features in the package either. Sure, there are instances where you need one feature to make another work but this is not always the case. It would be great to have the option of adding exactly what I want and none of what I don't want.
