You're definitely right, I'm a 17 year old girl and this music fits my SOUL!! Not much of today's music touches my heart, that's why I gotta travel back in time to the gold ol' days that I never got to live! It takes me back to a time that fits my tastes, DREAMS, and personality more than any modern music. Music is the best gift my dad every gave me, and I'm not afraid to say that I was born in the wrong generation!!

I am a 70s child, my kids 80s but one early one middle. Music is so much a mix of what you grew up with, what your teens did to you, what your children if you have them bring in and then what your mind and soul crave in the moments of pain, anger, lust, joy and sorrow. Home musically for me is 50s, 60s and 70s. But songs and bands are like smells they trigger emotion and memories.

Joe Walsh said recently that today's music are 128 track software created "industrial" formulas. Joe said what made the music of the 60's + was that the musicians played together. He said that singers back then "testified".... testified to the music... put their heart and soul in it. Instrument players did too.. sometimes they put so much of themselves into their music they beat the crap out of their instrument. But, the difference, Joe believes, and I have to agree, is that to touch the listener, you have to personally "testify" to the music. You can't serve up homogenized synthetic noise and expect to touch the listener's soul. You got to testify.

SO glad u could check this out for us, J! Wow! To hear you say you relate to the same stuff this white brother 13 yrs your senior totally grooves to, is just completely over the top AWESOME. You are damn straight. We had all the incredible music in the 70s. My problem was I was just ages 3-12 in that decade. I couldn't fully be introduced to this on the whole until the 80's (with several exceptions). And then in the 80's I was hell-bent on hard rock, which was and still is all good and fine, but it took some maturing to truly appreciate Steely Dan, The Doobies, The Allman Brothers, Tom Petty (check this out soon, Jamel, my man!), Crosby, Stills, and Nash, Zeppelin, I could go on and on. Anyway, Jamel, I congratulate you on the journey you are on. Fret not, you are probably only 20% of the way there. So much more to soak up. Peace to u. Longest post ever. Very apologetic here.
