Like you said. One oil change with the filter off and dump oil in the rubber and it's done. Fit a new mount following the factory manual and don't get oil on it. Dry miles only is just as bad as the oil just turns the rubber to cheese. Rear mount doesn't get the contents of the filter dumped on it.

Brother, you're the only one on this fuckin youtube that has actually explained and showed the issue with these. I was fuckin killing myself trying to figure out why my front isolator looked fine but I had this crazy vibration around 2-4,000 rpm worse on decel. I just checked the specific area you talked about. It's touching just sitting there in the garage. Thanks for the info bro. Very much appreciated.

I just got done doing my brakes, non-ABS 2012 Road King and used this method. It worked pretty well, rear was easier then the front. On the front I have dual brakes, I cut about an 8 inch piece of hose and stuck it on the clutch side valve and directed it towards an oil pan so I didn't just have brake fluid squirting everywhere. Soon as I opened the valve it just started to flow without me pushing on the other side. It cleared out that side pretty quickly, I shut off the valve and started pushing it up to the master cylinder. I was using the plastic syringe with about another 8 inch piece of 3/16 inch hose I believe and just kind of peaking over the top of the MC while I pushed the plunger. Got a big squirt I wasn't prepared for out of the MC and had to stop to wipe off the break fluid that shot out. Went a lot a slower emptying out the MC with a turkey baster and pushing more fluid in and did that a few times and got it done until it tested "good" with my moisture tester and didn't have any air in the lines and no spongy brakes job can be done by one person so thanks for the video

Just thought I'd share what I found out after months of researching this exact situation: The Harley Davidson ABS SYSTEM will not OPEN to allow bleeding without a command from the software..THAT IS THE PROBLEM..YES, You will end up with the brake lines bleed UP TO the ABS SYSTEM....NOT INCLUDING THE ABS SYSTEM because it will remain closed UNLESS the software commands it opens it. That is why the dealer is necessary OR if you want to do it yourself you can invest in purchasing the "DAYTONA"- "Twin Tec Twin Scan 4 Tuner." (Retails around $450 to $595), This tuner has the HD ABS program and will do exactly as the dealers computer for your ABS system! Sad note is: CA once again has outlawed all tuners. Also, the Twin Tec Twin Scan 4 is currently out of stock everywhere and won't be available again for another couple of months. That is when I'll be driving from Southern California to Las Vegas to get mine! I ride a 2013 Harley Davidson Anniversary Heritage. Hope that helps save you a bit of time with researching this subject. Kenny from So. CA.

@@Dan-rc4cx is fuel injected. i assume there's a hole in the bottom of the tank. console covers solid tank, fuel gauge, and gas cap. nothing comes off with the console except the console, it is merely a shroud around the gas gauge and a single gas cap. just had this bike 1 month. gas leaks from the efi quick connect and getting worse daily.

5 threads on any bolt with 75 percent thread will hold the maximum tensile strength of any bolt.more threads will increase your surface space from backing out but nothing a bit of loc tight won't fix.
@Dan-rc4cx
4 жыл бұрын
Great... you do your way. For me, the longer bolt with a good washer / lock washer combo has never failed and I don't plan on trying to use the stock short bolts again. I've seen the stock short bolts pull the threads out of the mount more than once. I have seen the stock bolts come lose more than once. Like you said, more surface area keeps them locked in better. Plus, if they ever do happen to come lose the longer bolts most likely wont back out far enough to totally fail before you notice they need to be tightened on a regular visual inspection interval.

Video makes total sense, and has worked well for my factory calipers, however, on my 2020 FLHX w/ABS, If I am installing a new set of front (chrome) calipers would I follow the following procedure? THANK YOU ! ! 1. Remove existing front left caliper 2. Install new front left caliper 3. Remove front master cylinder cap 4. Squeeze front brake lever to push caliper cups towards rotor 5. Now bleed front left caliper The above sequence makes sense (my assumption) because Im trying to fill the caliper with fluid prior to bleeding. Make sense? Thanks again! Love your videos!!
@Dan-rc4cx

Ricardo De La Torre I would install all the hardware, push fluid in as in the video. Put master cover on and pump up the brakes. Then do the procedure again after the calipers travel out to the rotors to ensure enough fluid is in the system with no air bubbles.

Down & Dirty my bike kept just shutting off on me. Like I wasn’t getting fuel but once I sat for a minute it eowould fire back up and run for a while then shut off again. What it was was the filter on end of pump had dissolved and all the pieces had sucked up into the little opening on bottom of pump and when it would sit the clog would slide down enough so fuel could get by. It was like a wad of gum. They say the ethanol is what deteriorates them , but tearing the tank apart really wasn’t hard ya just gotta be careful not to snap any of the plastic clips and stuff. But it wasn’t hard at all

Actually the master can sit open and should. Because the second side bleeder screws are open while you push the fluid the master will not fill. Then when its time to push the fluid up to the master you are able to see the master fill up and see the few bubbles dissipate when you tap on the master body.
@ghostghost6268

@@Dan-rc4cx Additionally, once you have the fluid through the system....squeeze the front brake slowing and it will move air that is in the line out through the master cylinder housing on the handlebars. ...squeeze until no more air bubbles. Great Vid
