We got approached at disneyland! Be aware people. If they tell you they like your shirt or any article of clothing that should be a red flag. They try to start small talk and gauge what you do for a living. Immediately think scam because to be honest no one these days is interested in meeting new people. Only those looking to gain something, opprotunist. Trust your intuition. If it feels forced most likely its not genuine. We confonted them after 2 meetings because no info was being given about what they actually do to "be free" as they say. You can tell it was the first time someone actually confronted them on their motives, it was quite sad, they are brainwashed. Thank you for the insightful video!

My wife and I got roped into one of these “business opportunity” meetings. I asked what company they were working for and they dodged it by saying it their own business. But then I noticed the guy was drinking a white bottle Perfect Empowered water, which I already knew is Amway’s $2-$3 a bottle. I asked if that was one of their products and they were forced to say it was Amway. Got em😝

Damn... The meetings I went to weren't put on by the same people but your script is exactly the same. I remember them saying "Here are a couple of what I think are important values to me" and it was exactly the same ones as you put up here. Here I was thinking they were talking from the heart.

That’s crazy you mention your car was totaled, as I was going through the process (BWW) I got into a car accident and my car was done. I should’ve seen that as a sign. I told my upline, who was about to launch me in the business, tell me to rethink my decision and to be careful because I had told him I won’t be following though. My mentor convinced me to follow through with the process and was in Amway for almost two years. The 1 year was alright but the 2 was dreadful and dragging. I had 1 downline who had a down line. I eventually saw through what was going on and ghosted everybody. To this day I feel guilty for ghosting but it’s healing to see I wasn’t the only one that had to ghost those involved. Great people and great times but the elephant in the room was clear that it was gonna take toooo much to get profitable.

Great video. My Amway experience was good. I loved the products. At one point reached the 6000 pv level. All parent companys in the entire mlm industry are obvious is not geared to making big money for the average distributor. Rather they focus on the members to use and purchase the products. Yes, you must have a good 400 plus in a diamond organization to reach that level, so of course the 0.03 % makes sense. Everyone would need their own organization. Thats how it works if you want to make big money. Amway with all its flaws is actually one of the better ones. You d think the structure and system would be better after all these decades, though.

Amway is about long lasting friendships being loyal to those friendships, and looking to help fill the needs of others! I think of people such as Jim and Nancy Dornan of Network 21! Their son was born with Spinal Bifida, and the medical stresses with that alone and the doctors bills, helped them balance their "3 children household", with their special needs child! Being an aerospace engineer, and a speech therapist, are very good careers! But when I listened to them way back in the 1980's give their personal testimony, about the "WHY and the HOW", they got started with the Amway business, I realized it wasn't just about talking about everything Amway! You help others, and fulfill the needs of others!

I was in back in the 90s, fairly quickly out of high school, that's a long story. When you said you have to earn an offer to join wwdb I had to laugh, it definitely didn't used to go down like that. But a lot of the terminology you used and the ways they get you for money each month doesn't sound like it's changed. Now that it's 30 yrs later and I have made a lot more money just working my way through my career, I can see how much of a full time job it is even if you did get to the top, and I was being sold the dream of early retirement. There are some good life lessons I learned, it did open my mind to the possibilities of a better life than I saw growing up, and it probably kept me out of a lot of trouble in my early adulthood because I was running around with older, business minded people. But I wasted so much money on tools and over priced products that it was economically oppressive to me, and was so discouraging that I couldn't get anywhere with it. Once I actually gave up, my career took off and I started actually achieving goals and dreams. I appreciate your videos, it's been a trip down memory lane. Plus in the 90s, before the great recession, the blatant materialism was exciting to me, but now I have a much different view and that doesn't even appeal to me anymore.

I was in wwdb when I gave birth to my first child. He had medical issues and was in NICU for a week. As soon as we all got home they visited us at home. Very kind but the next thing they were trying to get us to go to some expensive conference/ rally 100 mi from our house. I was nursing, no way I was going. So much stress going on in this constant pressure to work our business. Get away from our JOBs. I ended up quitting my because of my sons issues. I ended up finding a jobs that allowed me to work from home from home and gave me very flexible hours that allowed me to be available to take him to the doctor at a moment's notice and allowed me to continue nursing him. Because of his medical issues I nursed him for a year. I was going through one of the most difficult things in my life it became abundantly clear that they were not friends. Friends except you from wherever you're coming from and they do not pressure you to leave your child and go to one of their stupid pep rallies. My son is in his twenties now. Having him got me to leave my current JOB and I found a better one that paid well and did not require me to go out and sell this business so that I can make money off of my friends and put them under the same pressure that I felt. I could never do that.

That statement was more intended for folks who already ran through the business and quit. I was saying that it wasn't to be looked at as a waist of time just because I made no monthly profit over the 3 years that I could call "real income". Because of Amway & WWDB's training (calculated I did plan for easily over 200 folks via one-on ones or took to local opens or house meetings) BUT I met someone in the business (networking together) that got me a great job interview that set forth a rather successful 40 year career. *I still didn't learn my lesson on multi-level though as I went into Primerica in my 30's for over 2 years. At the time I got all 3 State lic's available (no picnic), easily personally showed, or had up-line show, over 150 of "mostly well quality folks" over 6 counties between San Luis Obispo and San Diego CA. with SAME RESULTS across the board for myself and all the other top "hard workers" I suffered with from our office. Again NOT a waste of time as furthered my sales and people skills and more importantly learned about the stock market, insurance and investing that made a HUGE difference in my finances. Met a lot of great folks along the way as well, but multi-level folks by design are 2 faced, have to be to a point so watch yourself!!! ***That not being able to be myself when meeting folks without some back minded "agenda" really made me NOT enjoy the business's. Was always on the hunt for prospects, because of the"what if" factor with everyone that comes your way, drove my wife crazy! I left both businesses knowing I worked way harder at it than most and gave it my best. Thanks for the reply, I did this comment back during Covid lockdown I believe!

If you have ever owned a business in your life, sweetheart, you would realize that this is the cheapest business on the planet to own!!! So you can talk money all day long but try and own something as silly as a hot dog stand and see how much you will need to spend to launch AND monthly costs to keep it running…. Then see how long it will be before you profit from your investment….. WEDB is for people who WANT to build something for themselves with no risk and externally great potential! because dear you are NOT IN DEBT from it… if you are then you didn’t follow what this group you speak of teaches and then that is your fault. If you want to be an employee for the rest of your life, so be it, and more power to you!!! Im glad you found what you want to do in life, but do not look down upon those of us that are trying to bust our butts and become something more. Just because you are a quitter does not mean you have to try and sway other people to quit too, so that you feel better about justifying your decision.

Spent about 16 months in Amway. After about a year I started liking it less and less till finally I just quit going to meetings, etc. Another thing I hated was listening to those tapes of the week. I also saw a lot of hypocrisy in that organization. The last weekend thing we went to was in Birmingham Ala, and we decided to leave early Sunday morning and skip the Sunday hoopla. On the way out a woman asked us, aren't you all going to stay for the rest? You're going to miss this a lot. No thanks, I replied, we've seen enough.

Idk I learned a lot on how to talk to people and people skills that translated to my traditional biz, and it’s boomin 😂. But I understand the deception your trying to explain, but hell ,I will tell you I learned so much and now my real businesses are booming, it gave me the courage to quit my job and start both my companies to be honest (AgAiNsT uPlinE AdViCe) lol my upline was pissed I quit my job and started a traditional biz, that’s why I left WWG. I can’t speak to your line of sponsorship however, if you quit… You simply didn’t do the work, you didn’t have a dream, and you didn’t have a good attitude. How people do one thing tends to be how they do all things. We’re free because of coaching and mentorship, specifically because of World Wide and Amway. I wish you and your family the best, but at the end of the day, only the hungry and gritty win in life.

Again absolutely correct. We were under the Kreger’s and they sent us home with the go giver. They had us meet at Panera and did the exact same questioning and statistic giving that you explained. It was a big fat red flag that they weren’t explaining what the business was for so long, but I understand now that they were using a tactic to make us feel like we were missing out if we asked too many questions or said no. They made us feel like we had to earn a spot with them and it made my husband and I want to keep going, like this “business” was something special. But we were young and naive and we fell for the manipulation for way too long unfortunately. They got really excited when they saw how good we were at saving and how much money we had set aside in our savings. We lost a lot of money in that organization and getting those $50 checks back didn’t even closely cover our losses. Such a scam

@carissahernandez4101

You are absolutely correct in this video. Thank you for sharing! I was also unfortunately a part of worldwide group and it took a little while to realize it was a cult. There were red flags everywhere but I just kept going in my naivety until my upline wanted me to not have my wedding on the day I wanted because Brad (a diamond) was having a meeting that day and I wasn’t considered “serious” if I missed even one meeting. Mind you I wanted to get married on my husbands and my anniversary and the “meetings” were always the exact same thing over and over again so we weren’t missing anything. I ended up being very angry that my upline had shamed me for daring to consider getting married on the same day as a “Brad” meeting and I did the opposite of what my upline wanted and got married on my anniversary. BRAD or anyone else in that business is not more important than my wedding day. Sorry not sorry. When I was around my family and friends that cared about me on my wedding day, I remembered what I really cared about and who I really was, so I stopped being a part of world wide group. My upline and their uplines all the way to the top discourages is from spending time with people that weren’t of the same mindset and behavior as the diamonds. They wanted us to change who we associated with to emulate the diamonds and become a diamond faster. Our uplines didn’t want us making friends with anyone in the world wide group, we were only encouraged to be “friends” with our direct upline. Mind you that our uplines ignored us and canceled private meetings with us 98% of the time. We were alone and prime targets for brainwashing. We unwittingly allowed ourselves to be treated this way because of the “dream”, we really wanted to believe it. But it’s a lie and a scam. Our uplines were the type to get too close too fast and even though we were practically strangers they wanted us to refer to them as our parents and to think of them that way. They said they were never going to leave us or abandon us. But they did. The moment we stopped being a part of their money grubbing, they didn’t even try to keep in constant contact. One of my upline has called a couple times a very long time after my husband and I left the “business”, but it was only because she wanted me to buy something. It was a tactic she shared during our training days. To keep in loose contact with people and act friendly so they will buy stuff. It was upsetting. They wanted to be my parents and then when they stopped getting money, now I was just a source of product sales. She would call to act like we were catching up but that was a lie. It was always about her greed. I just blocked her because my uplines were greedy liars and brainwashers. This is only one facet of the many issues my husband and I had. And you’re right, even if someone made $2500 a year, they still are losing more money than that yearly. Or uplines said we had to spend a hefty amount monthly on products too, so it wasn’t just on all the subscriptions. This company is a scam and I hope no one continues joining
