All you have seen, heard, learned, experienced---the trauma would be deep. Until this video I didn't consider that enough. I wish you well, peace and health in all possible wys, safety, freedom. Thank you for lighting our way.,

Complaining about the gap between rich and poor, then ending up by inviting China to have a say in world matters. Thinly veiled communist leanings imo, and you can shove them where the sun don’t shine.

I am reminded of this from someone who witnessed hell on Earth - “I have seen that it is not man who is impotent in the struggle against evil, but the power of evil that is impotent in the struggle against man. The powerlessness of kindness, of senseless kindness, is the secret of its immortality. It can never by conquered. The more stupid, the more senseless, the more helpless it may seem, the vaster it is. Evil is impotent before it. The prophets, religious teachers, reformers, social and political leaders are impotent before it. This dumb, blind love is man’s meaning. Human history is not the battle of good struggling to overcome evil. It is a battle fought by a great evil, struggling to crush a small kernel of human kindness. But if what is human in human beings has not been destroyed even now, then evil will never conquer.” ― Vasily Grossman, Life and Fate

Dark days, Mr Murray. The Western world's leaders have lost whatever moral compass that they might once have had. You are totally correct in your analysis of our governments being in the pockets of what Eisenhower called the Military Industrial Complex, and warned against so many years ago.

Utterly compelling truths. The only hope we have in the UK is a Collective of Independent Candidates that we can all vote for at the next GE, so we don't have to vote for one of the two Zionist Parties, who are bought and paid for by Israel.

I'm not sure that you're right to think that the neglect of people's wishes here is a symptom of democracy being abandoned (the suppression of pro-Palestinian speech, on the other hand, is indeed such a sign). Yes, the majority of the population may *prefer* Israel to stop, but the question is whether it also *cares enough* about this issue to let it determine whom it votes for. It's all about priorities. I tend to think that if most people really felt strongly about this, some party would have been able to attain power by promising to change course - at least in countries with political systems that don't maintain stable party duopolies. Even in the US, I don't think it's just because of the duopoly: to take another example, polls showed that most people supported universal healthcare and other economic populist causes *in principle*, but, as the actual vote counts demonstrated, these issues just didn't seem to be so high on their priority list as to make them vote for Bernie Sanders rather than for Clinton and Biden (or possibly even Trump). On Palestine - I'm afraid that Palestine isn't a major priority for most people in the Western bloc, because most humans just don't care enough about the well-being of other humans who aren't personally close to them. As for China - I don't think that either the Chinese leadership or most Chinese people care enough about the Palestinians either. China would only be likely to do such a thing if it chose to contend for the role and prestige of a new global hegemonic power. But it has enough economic, political and military troubles of its own and it doesn't have the self-confidence to do that. The role of a global enforcer of human rights doesn't exactly fit in well with its own deep and sincere commitment to even more violation of human rights than the West commits. All that China strongly cares about is its own narrow national/imperial interests in its own immediate neighbourhood; whatever military power it has, it would spend on crushing the Taiwanese people's right to self-determination, not to mention Hongkongers, Uyghurs, Tibetans etc. I haven't been following South Africa closely, its role in the Palestine issue has been surprisingly positive after the various symptoms of dysfunction in previous years, but I don't think it can solve this alone - militarily or economically.

As Alexei Sayle says, they lie and they lie and they lie and they lie and they lie. And they kill. Two skills. And those complicit governments (and opposition parties) are not concerned with what's being done or, indeed, how it's done. They're concerned about the public response, the impact on their electability and the fact that it hasn't fizzled out, as they'd anticipated.

In real time, we watch a genocide unfold and see just how the mechanics of genocide happened in the past. Dehumanising a group of people allows another group of people to view their victims as less worthy of life. The tragic irony, though in this case, is it's a group of people carrying out a genocide that they themselves suffered in the past. Allowing a special right of impunity to Israel has caused this, and the West is complicit in every step of the journey to genocide. Like you, hundreds of millions of people in the world are appalled by the barbarity of this and are helpless to stop it, we lack the power

Craig (near 8:00) points out how in all the Western governments, the two main parties are both composed of pro-genocidal neocons. Just like in 1996, the presidential race was between Bob Dole, who promised to send 500 bombers over the capital of Serbia, and Bill Clinton, who actually sent 1,200 bombers over Belgrade, in 1999. Some democracy. Bullshit.
