One of the greatest calls ever. Kent Pavelka is the best there ever was and still calls Nebraska basketball!

Greatest program in collegiate football history. NUMERO UNO!! The house that Devaney built and handed to Tom Osborne was a power season after season. Finally, the dam shattered in the greatest five year run in college football history. A record of 60-3 over his final five seasons with three national championships. During his final five seasons, Tom Osborne was College Footballs greatest coach. EVER. Underscore that. As a Michigan State fan, I can fully appreciate the fact that Devaney coached there and hailed from Saginaw. His exit strategy was the best in college football annals. Go Big Red.

Kent Pavelka was good but Lyle Bremser was great. And in 1971, the Big Eight finished first (Nebraska),second (Oklahoma), and third (Colorado) in the final AP poll. The Huskers went undefeated, beat Alabama 38 - 6 in the Orange Bowl so they defeated the second, third and fourth rated teams.

As a FSU fan. I'm actually relieved in hindsight that Florida beat us in the season finale that year. Because it most likely would've been FSU getting this beat down had we beat Florida. Because that game ended up being a play in game.Although FSU was 4-0 vs Nebraska in recent bowl history. And did pretty good vs their option attack. That 95 team was a whole different beast. And would've whooped FSU too. That's only team I feel that way about vs any noles team from the 90s. Probably the best team ever. IMO

I think the 2001 Miami Hurricanes would think differently. 38 total draft picks, 17 first rounders alone, 6 of whole went in the 2004 draft and most of those six players didn’t even start in 2001. They had Willis McGahee, Sean Taylor, Vince Wilfork, Antrell Rolle and Kellen Winslow Jr riding the pine that season cause they couldn’t unseat the guys ahead of them. That’s talent.
